As we’re moving into Day 28 of extended Movement Control Order (MCO), many of us have become reliant on food deliveries. Which means delivery riders have been making rounds and waiting on orders more than usual.

But instead of grabbing a chair to rest his legs, a rider decided to play a piano in an empty hall in Kuala Lumpur with his delivery bag still strapped to his back. Even more hearts have been captured recently, as he has since revealed that he’s a self-taught pianist after many discovered his Twitter page that has more soulful covers on it.

A concert of one that got the internet’s attention

The video that brought the rider’s skills to limelight was posted on Twitter by Izat Yuan on 11th April 2020, which has since gone viral with over 1.9 million views and 50,000 retweets.

In between jobs, he sat down to play some tunes. This included Camila Cabello’s hit Havana, which had many recognising it off the bat and hitting the retweet button.

It was later confirmed by the rider himself, Amirullah, who responded to the video on Twitter by saying that he thought the coast was clear when he sat down to play the piano to fill up the silence in the quiet hall.

Rider sends well wishes for frontliners
“Pray for me and other riders and frontliners during MCO. Hoping the world will get better soon and I can finish my diploma this year. My internship also might be botched from MCO”.

The candid camera and online attention was unexpected, but something Amirullah welcomed with a tweet for well wishes for riders and frontliners. In the same tweet, he hoped that the MCO would end soon so he can finish his diploma and start his internship.

With many also curious about his piano playing skills, he followed up with a tweet saying that he taught himself to play the piano through YouTube videos over the past 3 years, and had never taken a single piano class.

While he doesn’t have a YouTube channel, he posted several artfully-shot piano covers on Twitter that have also racked up over 1,000 likes on each, with many asking if he takes music requests.

One follower also found a video of him playing Ed Sheeran’s heart-swooning song, Perfect, presumably at a wedding reception.
