Yesterday, a Facebook user named Nguy\u1ec5n Ng\u1ecdc Qu\u1ef3nh Nh\u01b0 took to Ch\u00e1o H\u00e0nh Mi\u1ec5n Ph\u00ed<\/a> \u2013 a Facebook group where people post cute stories \u2013 to share the rather disastrous aftermath of her mother\u2019s failed cooking attempt.<\/p>\n

According to Qu\u1ef3nh Nh\u01b0, her mother learned a tip from TikTok that cooking sweet potatoes with a spoon would prevent them from burning. She tried to follow that instruction.<\/p>\n

The original poster then shared a photo of the result. Indeed, the sweet potatoes didn\u2019t burn.<\/p>\n

The pot and the spoon, however, did.<\/p>\n

Many people also shared their own kitchen fails. Netizen Loan My<\/a>, for instance, shared a picture of what looks like some overly fried cakes in a frying pan. We\u2019re not gonna be picky here – the cakes look pretty edible to us, charred though they might be.<\/p>\n

The same cannot be said for commenter Huy\u1ec1n Ho\u00e0ng\u2019s<\/a> pot of what was supposed to be braised pork. All that was left after she forgot it for two hours on the stove was a burned jumble dotted with some quail eggs.<\/p>\n

Some helpful netizens also pointed out the mistake OP\u2019s mom made. According to them, the proper way to execute this cooking method is to arrange not one, but several spoons, in the pot, so that the sweet potatoes never touch the pot. It would seem the original tip the OP\u2019s mom learned from wasn\u2019t clear on this crucial bit of information.<\/p>\n

Replying to these, Qu\u1ef3nh Nh\u01b0 said she\u2019d relayed the information to her mother. She also noted that the sweet potatoes actually turned out well.<\/p>\n
