It is a privilege to have friends so close we’d consider them a part of our own families. However, that also means if an unfortunate incident were to take them away from us, we\u2019d be left with scars that aren’t as easy to heal.<\/p>\n

7 years after his best friend passed away in an accident, this Facebook user continues to post regularly on his friend\u2019s page<\/strong> just to update him on how he\u2019s doing. All the posts are in a perfectly normal and conversational tone, but the story behind it is truly touching.<\/p>\n

Here’s how the conversations play out, and why it’s important to treasure the relationships we have while we can.<\/p>\n

The OP took up his friend\u2019s position at his company after he passed away<\/h3>\n

Yesterday, Facebook user Tu\u1ea5n Ng\u1ecdc<\/a> posted on Ch\u00e1o H\u00e0nh Mi\u1ec5n Ph\u00ed<\/a> \u2013 a popular forum where Vietnamese netizens share wholesome stories \u2013 about a special friendship he had \u2013 has \u2013 <\/em>with a man who died 7 years ago.<\/p>\n

According to the OP, they had met shortly after graduating from college, when both were interns at Viettel \u2013 a major telecommunications company in Vietnam.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was from a big city, Hanoi, while I was from a poor rural area. There were days when I\u2019d have no money for food or petrol, and he\u2019d be the one to take care of me,\u201d<\/em> Tu\u1ea5n Ng\u1ecdc wrote.<\/p>\n

The pair’s relationship couldn’t have been better, but fate is a cruel mistress indeed.<\/p>\n

OP’s friend got into an accident after a farewell party<\/h3>\n

On the very same day his friend was relocated to a Viettel outlet closer to home, he was caught in a fatal accident while heading home from a farewell party at work.<\/p>\n

After his friend\u2019s death, Tu\u1ea5n Ng\u1ecdc applied for his vacant position at the company, so he\u2019d get to sit at the very same working desk his friend would have sat at.<\/p>\n

He wrote, \u201cOn my first day at the new job, when I saw that the desk still had his nametag on it, I cried.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

We\u2019re not ashamed to admit, so did we.<\/p>\n

He still posts on his deceased friend\u2019s Facebook page regularly<\/h3>\n

Accompanying Tu\u1ea5n Ng\u1ecdc\u2019s post are several screenshots of messages he\u2019d written on his friend\u2019s Facebook wall, as if the latter were still around. These messages range from “Happy New Year” and “Happy Birthday” posts, to the OP sharing what’s new in his life with his friend.<\/p>\n

A relatively recent post, uploaded on 17th October 2020, reads:<\/p>\n

\u201cI and Phi [presumably their mutual friend] dropped by to visit you today. It’s been 7 years and I still tear up looking at your altar, how silly of me.<\/em><\/p>\n

“It\u2019d always been the three of us together. Now we’re both almost 30, while you’ll stay 23 forever.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

It appears that the man has done this for years too. One of the earliest messages Tu\u1ea5n Ng\u1ecdc shared, dates all the way back to 22nd December 2015.<\/p>\n

It says, \u201cOn this day, 2 years ago, you played quite a prank on me. It still hurts.\u201d<\/em> It\u2019s safe to assume this was possibly the anniversary of his friend\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

The message that got to us the most was when Tu\u1ea5n Ng\u1ecdc told his friend he was going to get married soon, but that the joy was “not complete without you.\u201d<\/p>\n

All the messages look like casual conversations, but we can only imagine the grief Tu\u1ea5n Ng\u1ecdc had to process, while writing every word.<\/p>\n

Man still ‘chats’ with his best friend on Facebook 7 years after his death<\/h3>\n
\n

Some say if you\u2019re friends with someone for over 7 years, you\u2019re friends for life. What Tu\u1ea5n Ng\u1ecdc shares with his deceased friend goes even beyond that. It\u2019s a friendship that transcends death itself.<\/p>\n

Our deepest condolences go to the man for his loss. At the same time, his story\u2019s given us a new appreciation for the loved ones we\u2019re still lucky enough to have around us.<\/p>\n
