Vietnam\u2019s COVID-19 cases are on the rise<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In the past 24 hours, Vietnam has seen a record-high spike in caseloads.<\/strong> On 6th May, 60 new cases were announced and the hunt for direct contacts of infected people has become more urgent and challenging than ever.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To contain the COVID-19 spread, some parts of Vietnam have imposed citywide social distancing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Vietnam\u2019s new wave of COVID-19 cases has showed no signs of abating yet as the country reported a daily record of 60 cases on Thursday, according to the Ministry of Health<\/a>. Among these cases, 56 were community infections – all linked to the cluster at a Hanoi hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n

This morning, Thanh Hoa reported 1 community case linked to another cluster in Yen Bai. The new patient is a direct contact of engineers in Yen Bai Province who tested positive after completing their quarantine.<\/span><\/p>\n

In Hanoi, 3 new cases have also been announced.<\/span><\/p>\n

1 patient is linked to the hospital cluster<\/a>, 1 contracted COVID-19 while in Danang, while the other got the virus after direct contact with the infected Danang returnee at a party.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The latest figures have pushed the country\u2019s tally of confirmed cases to 3,094 – with\u00a0<\/span>1,694 locally transmitted infections. Since the new COVID-19 wave hit on 27th April, Vietnam has witnessed 124 cases.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vinh Yen City in Vinh Phuc Province has imposed a 15-day citywide social distancing rule on its 153,000 residents to help curb the spread of COVID-19, <\/span>Lao Dong<\/span><\/a>\u00a0reports.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bac Ninh and Yen Bai, where community cases have emerged, are also among cities that have imposed local travel restrictions to flatten the COVID-19 curve.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Authorities of Hanoi, Vietnam\u2019s capital city, have put out calls to residents to refrain from going out as community cases continue to surge.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For the past 10 days, Vietnam has seen a big jump in the number of community cases. Increasingly, provinces and cities are implementing social distancing measures to limit the spread of COVID-19.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It is imperative that every resident understands the gravity of the COVID-19 situation, as direct contacts of confirmed patients are now in multiple places.<\/span><\/p>\n

The simplest thing we can do to keep ourselves and families safe is to stay home as much as possible, monitor our health closely, note down our travel history, and wear masks in public at all times.<\/span><\/p>\n
