Hanoi bars and clubs reopen as COVID-19 pandemic is under control<\/strong><\/h2>\n
\n

As the third wave of COVID-19 hit Vietnam in late July, nightlife activities across the country, including Hanoi, were put on hold to curtail the spread of the virus.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Vietnam currently has a total of 1,063 recorded COVID-19 cases, with 35 deaths to date. As of today, Vietnam has reported 14 consecutive days with zero community cases of COVID-19, indicating that the country <\/span>has the pandemic in check <\/b>and is ready to reopen businesses.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Following Saigon\u2019s reopening of nightlife venues on 9th September, <\/span>Hanoi<\/span><\/a>\u2019s bars and pubs have also been given the go-ahead to resume operations from 16th September<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Following the gradual relaxation of restrictions for non-essential businesses across the country,<\/span> Hanoi municipal leaders<\/span><\/a> gave<\/span> bars and pubs<\/span><\/a> the nod to reopen their doors starting from <\/span>16th September.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

To ensure public safety, bars and pubs are required to<\/span> take precautionary measures<\/b>, such as disinfecting their venues and enhancing fire prevention. These venues will also need to make sure their guests sanitize their hands and have their temperatures measured at the entrance.<\/span><\/p>\n

In response, bars and pubs in Hanoi have put out statements on social media announcing their reopening.<\/span><\/p>\n

1900 Theatre<\/span><\/a>, one of Hanoi\u2019s biggest clubs, is celebrating their reopening by offering free entry<\/strong> to all of its guests tonight.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vietnam reopened borders to expats and diplomats from 15th September<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As the COVID-19 pandemic is under control, restrictions on domestic and international flights were also lifted, according to <\/span>Tu\u1ed5i Tr\u1ebb<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Soon after domestic flights were resumed, Vietnam decided to reopen international air routes with neighboring countries such as China, Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea from <\/span>15th September.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Operating twice a week, these flights will carry <\/span>family members of Vietnam-based expats<\/b>, <\/span>work visa holders<\/b>, and <\/span>diplomats<\/b> back and forth. Passengers who transit from a third country that\u2019s not included in the above-mentioned list of countries will not be allowed to board.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In order to get on these flights, passengers must submit their <\/span>RT\u2013PCR test results<\/b> proving that they are<\/span> negative for SARS-CoV-2 <\/b>at least <\/span>3 days <\/b>prior to the flight departure.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Once these passengers land in Vietnam, they will be tested for COVID-19 using the RT-PCR method <\/span>again<\/b> before being quarantined upon arrival for <\/span>5 days <\/b>in appointed quarantine facilities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, flights between Vietnam and Laos and Cambodia are estimated to resume from<\/span> 22nd September<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As a result of<\/span> prompt and decisive <\/b>testing and quarantine<\/span><\/a>, Vietnam has achieved good results in containing the third COVID-19 outbreak that started in July. Residents in Vietnam\u2019s cities that once saw a great number of community cases such as Da Nang and Hai Duong have already<\/span> slowly returned to normal life<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While these are positive signs that a victory against COVID-19 is within reach, we should continue to keep our guard up and <\/span>wear masks in public <\/b>to protect ourselves.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
