Vietnam\u2019s top music artists <\/span><\/a>gracing the stage and a sea of people grooving to the bass-heavy music are most visitors\u2019 impressions of <\/span>1900 Le Th\u00e9\u00e2tre<\/span><\/a>, widely known as 1900<\/strong>, <\/span>Hanoi\u2019s biggest nightclub.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

However, instead of hard-hitting tunes, what passers-by hear these days from the club are mainly the sounds of shuttlecocks hitting the nets and badminton players grunting.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Not to worry – 1900 <\/strong>has not<\/em> closed down and gotten replaced by a fitness club. The nightclub is still around and has just been temporarily converted into a <\/span>sports playground<\/b> for staff members.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In alignment with the government\u2019s compulsory social distancing measures to <\/span>curb the spread of the coronavirus<\/b>, 1900 has <\/span>canceled all of its shows<\/b> and stopped taking in visitors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Instead of closing its doors and dismissing staff members like other clubs, 1900 has turned its inactive venue into <\/span>a sports practice area.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

During the COVID-19 social distancing period, its staff members can still come over to<\/span> play badminton<\/b> so that they don\u2019t feel socially isolated.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
