COVID-19 in Vietnam, update on 14th August<\/h2>\n

6 new COVID-19 patients announced this morning<\/strong> add to Vietnam\u2019s total patient count of 911<\/strong>, as the country also records its 21st COVID-19 death<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As several of the new cases were discovered in the northern city of H\u1ea3i D\u01b0\u01a1ng<\/strong>, authorities have put the city under a strict social distancing order in a bid to curb the spread of the virus.<\/p>\n

All 6 new cases reported this morning<\/strong>, 3 of whom are from the northern city of H\u1ea3i D\u01b0\u01a1ng and the other 3 in the central province of Qu\u1ea3ng Nam, are linked to previous patients.<\/p>\n

More specifically, the cases in H\u1ea3i D\u01b0\u01a1ng<\/strong> include 2 residents of the city and a 59-year-old woman from the nearby province Th\u00e1i B\u00ecnh. They work for the same restaurant as Patient 867<\/a><\/strong>, a 63-year-old man who was confirmed positive for the virus in Hanoi and whose source of infection is still unclear.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the 3 patients in Qu\u1ea3ng Nam are all family members of Patient 722<\/strong>, who was confirmed on 6th August.<\/p>\n
