Vietnamese singer Tu\u1ea5n H\u01b0ng is taking a break from singing<\/h2>\n

For any music lover in Vietnam, Tu\u1ea5n H\u01b0ng<\/strong> is an all-too-familiar name. He is widely known as one of the most influential figures in the Vietnamese music scene<\/strong>, having had numerous smash hits over the course of his two-decade career.<\/p>\n

It was shocking news, then, when the 42-year-old singer announced in a concert earlier this week that he\u2019d be taking a break from singing<\/strong> in order to spend more time with his family<\/strong>. While many fans are understandably saddened, they have shown full support for his decision.<\/p>\n

The singer has had numerous smash hits<\/h3>\n
\n

Born in 1978 in Hanoi, Tu\u1ea5n H\u01b0ng displayed his musical talents at a young age. In 1998, despite his family\u2019s protests, he dropped out of college to pursue music as a full-time career.<\/p>\n

At the time, the now-famous singer was a member of the boyband Qu\u1ea3 D\u01b0a H\u1ea5u<\/em> (The Watermelon)<\/strong>, which was seen at a breath of fresh air to Vietnam\u2019s music scene. Qu\u1ea3 D\u01b0a H\u1ea5u<\/em> disbanded in 2000, and its 4 members went on their separate ways.<\/p>\n

Among them, Tu\u1ea5n H\u01b0ng<\/strong> and B\u1eb1ng Ki\u1ec1u<\/strong> went on to become big names, while the other two, T\u01b0\u1eddng V\u0103n and Anh T\u00fa, also enjoyed relative success in the entertainment industry though they never achieved superstardom as their former co-stars.<\/p>\n

Tu\u1ea5n H\u01b0ng moved to H\u1ed3 Ch\u00ed Minh City in February 2000, where he began to make a name for himself. Over the years, he has produced several hits. These days, you can hear Tu\u1ea5n H\u01b0ng\u2019s songs such as \u201cT\u00ecm l\u1ea1i b\u1ea7u tr\u1eddi\u201d<\/em> (To find the skies again), \u201cNh\u01b0 v\u1eady nh\u00e9\u201d (So be it), \u201cAnh Nh\u1edb Em\u201d (I miss you)<\/em>, and more being played in cafes, restaurants, and basically anywhere you go in Vietnam.<\/p>\n

Tu\u1ea5n H\u01b0ng got married to Tr\u1ea7n Thu H\u01b0\u01a1ng<\/strong>, a businesswoman, in 2014. The couple has now had 3 children.<\/p>\n

On Monday evening, Tu\u1ea5n H\u01b0ng shocked fans when he announced at a live concert that he would be taking a break<\/strong> from singing<\/strong>. The reason behind this decision is that he wants to spend more time with his wife and children.<\/p>\n

In a heartfelt message to fans posted on his Facebook page<\/a> yesterday, Tu\u1ea5n H\u01b0ng wrote:<\/p>\n

\u201cI love you all. I truly appreciate all the affection you\u2019ve given me. I worked so hard to get to where I am now, and it is hard to think of one day saying goodbye to the stage. However, each concert I have now means I have to spend days apart from my children. I just can\u2019t concentrate on singing anymore and I know what I need most right now. I will be taking a temporary break for a while to spend more time taking care of my family and children.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hundreds of fans have commented on Tu\u1ea5n H\u01b0ng\u2019s post to show their support. However, addressing the many news sites that reported that he\u2019s retiring, the singer has spoken up again this afternoon to clarify that he is just taking a temporary break <\/strong>so that he can have more time to take care of his family and to \u201crecharge his energy for the next step\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cTHIS IS NOT RETIREMENT,\u201d<\/strong> Tu\u1ea5n H\u01b0ng affirmed, in all caps. He also promises to reveal more information in an upcoming concert tour, though so far there has been no announcement regarding this tour.<\/p>\n

While we all are no doubt going to miss Tu\u1ea5n H\u01b0ng\u2019s signature warm voice and his touching songs, we totally understand and respect his decision to prioritize his family.<\/p>\n
