But after you\u2019ve explored the town\u2019s Old Quarter and had your fill of signature dishes such as Qu\u1ea3ng noodles or cao l\u1ea7u<\/em>, Caman Village<\/strong> is a destination we recommend checking out.<\/p>\n

Located on the outskirts of H\u1ed9i An, this garden caf\u00e9\/event venue offers a verdant space to relax at, and plenty of workshops to learn more about Vietnam\u2019s culture. Let\u2019s have a look:<\/p>\n

Past the rustic-looking gate with a thatched roof, you\u2019ll find yourself in a spacious yard with gardens growing a wide variety of plants, from rosemary and thyme to mint and artichoke.<\/p>\n

At the center of the yard is a roofed section that serves as the venue\u2019s main space. Here, you\u2019ll find long tables and rattan chairs to sit at, as well as a counter to order food and drinks.<\/p>\n

Surrounding this main space are several cottages designed to resemble traditional Vietnamese country houses, equipped with old-school furniture. Some of these also come with their own unique d\u00e9cor. For example, one recreates a tailor\u2019s shop, with a sewing machine, colorful fabrics, and other tailoring equipment.<\/p>\n

Outside, a crystal clear pond covered in lotus leaves, and colorful flowers blooming next to stone paths between the gardens serve to complete the rustic picture.<\/p>\n

For spontaneous visitors, Caman Village runs a regular caf\u00e9 with food and drinks featuring organic ingredients from their own gardens. The butterfly pea tea (VND40,000, ~USD1.70)<\/strong>, for instance, comes cool and refreshing, with a pleasant aroma.<\/p>\n

You can also find here processed tea leaves, artichoke syrup, and m\u1ee9t <\/em>\u2013 a Vietnamese snack made from dried fruits and plants, with prices ranging from VND100,000 (~USD4.26)<\/strong> to VND150,000 (~USD6.39)<\/strong>. They make for nice gifts for family and friends at home.<\/p>\n

That said, we highly recommend contacting them ahead of your visit to arrange a workshop for VND250,000 (~USD10.64) <\/strong>per guest. There are several workshop options to choose from. You can learn to make H\u1ed9i An\u2019s signature cao l\u1ea7u <\/em>noodles, or try your hands at cooking b\u00e1nh x\u00e8o <\/em>\u2013 Vietnamese pancake with shrimp, meat, and bean sprout fillings.<\/p>\n

The workshops also include a free tour of their gardens, where you\u2019ll get to water the plants yourself.<\/p>\n
