However, the country\u2019s tourism industry has taken a huge blow due to the inevitable impact of COVID-19 and the shutdown of borders. Therefore, the Vietnam government has been trying to get the tourism industry back up by encouraging more Vietnamese and local residents to travel within the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Qu\u1ea3ng Nam Province, home to Vietnam\u2019s national heritage sites such as H\u1ed9i An ancient town and M\u1ef9 S\u01a1n holy site, is also increasing its efforts to boost tourism<\/a> by introducing discount programs for local tourists.<\/p>\n

Besides its plethora of tourist attractions and distinctive food culture<\/a>, Qu\u1ea3ng Nam Province\u2019s most attractions, the M\u1ef9 S\u01a1n holy site <\/strong>and C\u00f9 Lao Ch\u00e0m Island<\/strong>, are also recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and World Natural Reserve respectively.<\/p>\n

H\u1ed9i An ancient town<\/strong>, also situated in the province, topped Travel + Leisure World\u2019s Best Cities List in 2019 and has long been the country\u2019s most visited tourist destination. Here, you\u2019ll find small and serene lanes with ancient architecture, colorful lanterns<\/strong> lighting up the streets by night, and unique local food<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Free travel services for COVID-19 frontliners<\/h3>\n

To give the tourism industry a boost, the Qu\u1ea3ng Nam Tourism Committee<\/strong> will launch 2 stimulus programs –\u00a0 one for COVID-19 frontliners and another for local tourists and expats.<\/p>\n

The Thank You Program<\/strong> lets COVID-19 frontliners have free hotel stays, meals, and tickets to local attractions, such as H\u1ed9i An ancient town, M\u1ef9 S\u01a1n holy site, and C\u00f9 Lao Ch\u00e0m Island – all by getting local service providers to give some 300 vouchers to these frontline workers. The program will run from 1st June to 30th September 2020.<\/p>\n

Promotions and discounts for local tourists<\/h3>\n
\n

Local tourists can benefit from the Domestic Travel Stimulus Program<\/strong>, which lets them tour Qu\u1ea3ng Nam Province and explore the food scene here with discounts from local service providers <\/strong>who are participating in the programs.<\/p>\n

Unlike the free program for frontliners, this does not have an expiry date. <\/strong>Service providers in Qu\u1ea3ng Nam Province who wish to participate in the programs can register here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Qu\u1ea3ng Nam Province is also looking to develop agricultural tourism<\/strong> in its potential tourist attractions, such as Tr\u00e0 Qu\u1ebf Vegetable Village, C\u1ea9m Kim, and Tri\u00eam T\u00e2y, according to B\u00e1o Qu\u1ea3ng Nam<\/a>. This will help tourists better understand local customs, as well as preserve the area\u2019s natural resources and landscape.<\/p>\n

By introducing this initiative, the city\u2019s tourism committee also hopes to breathe new life into the tourism activities here and offer tourists more entertainment options, such as physical therapy and massage services using vegetables.
