Vietnamese woman gives birth to baby girl on a train<\/h2>\n

When SE4 train staff <\/strong>showed up at work as usual on Sunday afternoon, they probably weren\u2019t expecting that they would be helping a female passenger deliver a baby <\/strong>on the train that day. But 26th April was one of the days when things didn’t go as planned.<\/p>\n

That day, the 2PM service was approaching Kim Li\u00ean – H\u1ea3i V\u00e2n Nam in \u0110\u00e0 N\u1eb5ng City<\/strong> when the female passenger went into labour and asked the train staff for medical help.<\/p>\n

4 hours later, a baby girl, weighing 3KG, was delivered with the assistance of SE4 train staff on the train.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The woman was 37 weeks pregnant<\/h3>\n
\n

Lang Th\u1ecb M\u1eadu, <\/strong>the female passenger, was 37 weeks pregnant when she boarded the train on her own from B\u00ecnh D\u01b0\u01a1ng to Ngh\u1ec7 An on 26th April, according to \u0110\u01b0\u1eddng S\u1eaft Vi\u1ec7t Nam – H\u00e0nh tr\u00ecnh v\u1ea1n d\u1eb7m<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The moment her water broke, M\u1eadu immediately contacted B\u00f9i Th\u1ebf Tuy\u00ean<\/strong>, a train staff for assistance.<\/p>\n

Upon notification of the passenger\u2019s condition, Tr\u1ea7n V\u0103n Tr\u00ed<\/strong>, head of the train staff team of Southern Train Staff Team, called for assistance from medically trained passengers onboard over the train’s loudspeakers.<\/p>\n

However, none on the train had any medical experience. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The train staff contacted M\u1eadu\u2019s family on the phone and task forces at Hu\u1ebf train station, which is the nearest station, to arrange for transportation to take the passenger to a nearby hospital once the train reached Hu\u1ebf.<\/p>\n

She couldn\u2019t wait until the train reached Hu\u1ebf<\/h3>\n
\n

But at 4.15PM,<\/strong> M\u1eadu started having terrible labor contractions, a sure indicator that she might be giving birth soon.<\/p>\n

By 4.25PM<\/strong>, with the assistance of SE4 train staff, a baby girl weighing 3KG was successfully brought into the world in the train, before it even reached the next station.<\/p>\n

Upon their arrival in Hu\u1ebf train station, the mother and the baby were immediately admitted into a local hospital and both of them are said to be doing well.<\/p>\n

The tremendous support and deftness of the SE4 train staff in dealing with the difficult situation didn\u2019t go unnoticed.<\/p>\n

On 27th April, an employee recognition event was organized by Vietnam Railway Company<\/a> to recognize and reward the staffs\u2019 efforts for going above and beyond their duties to assist a passenger in need.<\/strong>

The heartwarming story has been widely shared among netizens, reaching over 11,000 likes since it has been reshared on BEATvn<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The train staff also won plaudits from netizens for their efforts in managing the natural delivery,<\/strong> which clearly isn\u2019t their field of expertise at all.<\/p>\n

Another Facebook user \u0110\u1eadu Vi\u1ec7t<\/a> suggested in the comments that the baby \u201cshould be named \u2018Hu\u1ebf\u2019 and given free train rides until she turns 6.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not easy for a woman as labor nears. Travelling on her own when heavily pregnant adds to the enormity of discomfort and vulnerabilities.

\nM\u1eadu was very fortunate that she was able to deliver her baby into this world safely and soundly, with the assistance of strangers who have no medical training in baby deliveries.<\/p>\n

Not only did the SE4 train staff set a great example of work ethics going above and beyond to assist a vulnerable passenger<\/strong>, their actions have also renewed our faith in humanity in a challenging time like this.
