Public gatherings of more than 2 are banned in Vietnam<\/b><\/h2>\n

With the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country <\/span>crossing the 200 mark<\/span><\/a> today, the Vietnamese government is starting to implement strict measures to contain the disease.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a directive issued this morning, it has ordered a nationwide social distancing policy that<\/span> bans public gatherings of more than 2 people<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The directive comes into effect tomorrow, 1<\/span>st<\/span> April 2020, and will last for 15 days. According to the guidelines, people are requested to stay at home and only go out for emergencies or essential reasons, such as to buy supplies, go to the hospital, or go to work at businesses that are still allowed to operate.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Public gatherings of more than 2 people outside of workplaces, hospitals, schools, and in public areas are not allowed<\/b>, and people must maintain a distance of at least 2 meters from one another.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe principle is to isolate families from families, villages from villages, communes from communes, provinces from provinces,\u201d the official document reads.<\/span><\/p>\n

It also adds that<\/span> businesses are responsible for implementing preventive measures to ensure the safety of their staff<\/b>. Factories must perform disinfection, and their workers must wear masks.<\/span><\/p>\n

Under the new directive, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Public Security are to work closely with local authorities in Hanoi and H\u1ed3 Ch\u00ed Minh City to focus all resources on containing COVID-19 in hotspots such as the <\/span>B\u1ea1ch Mai Hospital (Hanoi)<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Bar Buddha (H\u1ed3 Ch\u00ed Minh City)<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are glad to see that the Vietnamese government acknowledges the severity of the COVID-19 situation in the country and is deploying measures to contain the disease. Let\u2019s all be responsible and stay at home for now. Hopefully this ordeal will be over soon.<\/span><\/p>\n
