New developments on COVID-19 in Vietnam, 26th<\/b> March<\/b><\/h2>\n

As Vietnam continues to record more COVID-19 cases every day, the government has shut down all \u201cnon-essential\u201d businesses such as bars, cafes, and gyms<\/strong> in the metropolises of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, following an <\/span>earlier announcement<\/span><\/a> that the T\u00e2n S\u01a1n Nh\u1ea5t Airport will stop accepting international flights carrying Vietnamese citizens<\/strong>, Hanoi\u2019s N\u1ed9i B\u00e0i Airport is doing the same starting today<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

As of 9AM, 26<\/span>th<\/span> March 2020, Vietnam has recorded a total of 148 COVID-19 cases, 14 of which were reported within the past 24 hours.<\/span><\/p>\n

Case 135<\/b> is a 27-year-old female who lives in H\u1ea3i Ph\u00f2ng city. On 19<\/span>th<\/span> March, she took a flight from Copenhagen, Denmark to \u0110\u00e0 N\u1eb5ng, Vietnam, and was quarantined on arrival.<\/span><\/p>\n

Case 136<\/b> is a 23-year-old female who lives in Ho\u00e0ng Mai District, Hanoi. She was studying abroad in the US. She returned to Vietnam on 16<\/span>th<\/span> March and practiced self-quarantine at home. On 21<\/span>st<\/span> March, she started developing a fever and was tested for Covid-19.<\/span><\/p>\n

Case 137<\/b> is a 36-year-old male who lives in Y\u00ean Th\u00e0nh District, Ngh\u1ec7 An province. He traveled to Germany and returned to Vietnam on 15<\/span>th<\/span> March.<\/span><\/p>\n

Case 138<\/b> is a 23-year-old male who lives in \u0110\u1ed1ng \u0110a District, Hanoi. He was a student studying abroad in the UK. He returned to Hanoi on 21<\/span>st<\/span> March and was quarantined on arrival.<\/span><\/p>\n

Case 139<\/b> is a 24-year-old female who lives in Hai B\u00e0 Tr\u01b0ng District, Hanoi. She was also a student returning to Hanoi from the UK on 21<\/span>st<\/span> March and was quarantined on arrival. Her husband was also tested positive to COVID-19.<\/span><\/p>\n

Case 140<\/b> is a 21-year-old male who studied abroad in the UK. He returned to Hanoi on 21<\/span>st<\/span> March and was quarantined on arrival.<\/span><\/p>\n

Case 141<\/b> is a 29-year-old male who is a doctor working at the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases, Hanoi, where COVID-19 patients are quarantined.<\/span><\/p>\n

Case 142<\/b> is a 26-year-old male who lives in B\u00ecnh Ch\u00e1nh District, H\u1ed3 Ch\u00ed Minh City. He was a student studying abroad in the US. On 8<\/span>th<\/span> March, he took a flight from Texas, transited at Taipei, Taiwan, and landed in Ho Chi Minh City on 10<\/span>th<\/span> March. He tested positive on 23rd March and is being treated at a field hospital in C\u1ea7n Gi\u1edd District.<\/span><\/p>\n

Case 143<\/b> is a 58-year-old South African woman who lives in T\u00e2n Ph\u00fa District, H\u1ed3 Ch\u00ed Minh City. She returned to the city from the US on 21<\/span>st<\/span> March. Before that, she had come in direct contact with a family member who had COVID-19.<\/span><\/p>\n

Case 144<\/b> is a 22-year-old male who lives in Ph\u00fa Nhu\u1eadn District, H\u1ed3 Ch\u00ed Minh City. He returned from the UK on 22<\/span>nd<\/span> March.<\/span><\/p>\n

Case 145<\/b> is a 34-year-old male who lives in T\u00e2n Ph\u00fa District, H\u1ed3 Ch\u00ed Minh City. He returned from the US to C\u1ea7n Th\u01a1 City on 22<\/span>nd<\/span> March.<\/span><\/p>\n

Case 146<\/b> is a 17-year-old female who lives Nghi L\u1ed9c District, Ngh\u1ec7 An Province. She returned to Vietnam from Thailand on 20<\/span>th<\/span> March. It was also reported that she had come into close contact with a COVID-19 patient beforehand.<\/span><\/p>\n

Case 147<\/b> is a 19-year-old male who lives in C\u1ea7u Gi\u1ea5y District, Hanoi. He was studying abroad in the UK and returned to Hanoi on 21<\/span>st<\/span> March.<\/span><\/p>\n

Case 148<\/b> is a 58-year-old French man who was staying in \u0110\u1ed1ng \u0110a District, Hanoi. He arrived on 12<\/span>th<\/span> March, visited several tourist attractions in Hanoi between then and 19<\/span>th<\/span> March, after which he was tested for COVID-19 and quarantined at home.<\/span><\/p>\n

Following <\/span>our report<\/span><\/a> on Tuesday that H\u1ed3 Ch\u00ed Minh City\u2019s T\u00e2n S\u01a1n Nh\u1ea5t Airport would stop accepting flights carrying Vietnamese citizens returning from overseas and redirect them to other airports to prevent overcrowding quarantine facilities in the area, N\u1ed9i B\u00e0i Airport in Hanoi is now doing the same<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The new regulation comes into effect today, 26<\/span>th<\/span> March 2020, and is expected to last until the end of this month.<\/span><\/p>\n

With this latest development, international flights coming to Vietnam will have to land at V\u00e2n \u0110\u1ed3n Airport (Qu\u1ea3ng Ninh Province), Ph\u00f9 C\u00e1t Airport (B\u00ecnh \u0110\u1ecbnh Province), C\u1ea7n Th\u01a1 Airport (C\u1ea7n Th\u01a1 City), and other airports as directed by aviation authorities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yesterday evening, Hanoi ordered the shutting of all \u201cnon-essential\u201d businesses such as bars, karaokes, and cinemas<\/strong> to limit the spread of COVID-19. The restriction is expected to last until 5<\/span>th<\/span> April, though that might be subjected to change depending on how the situation develops. Locals are also urged to stay at home as much as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n

A similar directive was issued in H\u1ed3 Ch\u00ed Minh City<\/strong> on Tuesday that saw all barbershops, gyms, beauty salons, and restaurants with a capacity of over 30 diners close<\/strong> until the end of this month. Bars, karaoke, and cinemas in the southern city have been closed since 15<\/span>th<\/span> March.<\/span><\/p>\n
