H\u00e0 T\u00f4n Quy\u1ec1n Street turns into a walking street<\/h2>\n

Good news for foodies, especially h\u00e1 c\u1ea3o<\/em> fans: District 11\u2019s H\u00e0 T\u00f4n Quy\u1ec1n Street, widely known for its Chinese food stores, will soon be turned into a food street.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to the reopening of Vietnam to international tourism on <\/span>15th March<\/span><\/a>, the upcoming launch of the new walking street is one of the government\u2019s efforts to restart tourist activities after two years of stagnation due to the pandemic.<\/span><\/p>\n

70+ stalls open at night for foodies<\/h3>\n

According to <\/span>Thanh Ni\u00ean<\/span><\/a>, the government of District 11 plans to establish a walking street on H\u00e0 T\u00f4n Quy\u1ec1n Street, stretching from Wards 4 to 6.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This is going to be a night food street with about 70 food stalls plus 50 restaurants and bistros. <\/span><\/p>\n

As planned, the walking street will open from 4PM to 10PM every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The official launch hasn\u2019t been announced yet, but we can expect it to be later this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

The street is already popular<\/h3>\n
\n

The government picked H\u00e0 T\u00f4n Quy\u1ec1n Street because it is already a favourite place for many food lovers in the city. Situated in the Cholon area, the street is known for its tasty and flavourful Chinese dishes, most notably, shrimp s\u1ee7i c\u1ea3o,<\/em> a kind of dumpling.<\/p>\n

It is so famous that the street is nicknamed \u201c<\/span>ph\u1ed1 s\u1ee7i c\u1ea3o<\/em>,<\/span>\u201d or “Chinese dumpling street”.<\/span><\/p>\n

Apart from the dumpling stalls, on this street, you can enjoy heaps of food and drinks<\/span> such as bubble tea, har gaw<\/em> or Cantonese-style shrimp dumplings, noodles, egg fried rice, and so on. The prices are quite affordable at <\/span>VND60,000(~USD2.63).<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There will be new walking streets coming<\/h3>\n

H\u00e0 T\u00f4n Quy\u1ec1n is not the only walking street in the government\u2019s plans. According to <\/span>VnExpress<\/span><\/a>, before the pandemic struck, the HCMC government had intended to launch new walking streets focusing on street food and nightlife. <\/span><\/p>\n

For example, the Turtle Lake area is expected to be <\/span>redeveloped<\/span> to be a communal space just like the present Nguy\u1ec5n Hu\u1ec7 walking street. Nguy\u1ec5n Th\u01b0\u1ee3ng Hi\u1ec1n Street, on the other hand, will be developed to be <\/span>a street food location<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although still in the planning stage, we can expect to see the walking street later this year as Vietnam reopens to international tourists with more activities catering to visitors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
