Thai woman buys meal for stranger
“Sharing is caring” easily describes the act of kindness in this story – and when it comes to sharing, we can do so even with strangers.
Earlier this week, a lady named Ma Meow shared a heartwarming story on her Facebook page after she decided to treat a stranger with a warm hot pot meal.
The post has since been shared for over 39k times and received around 150k reactions.

Translation: I was having a hot pot meal with my boyfriend when I noticed an uncle looking at our table through a glass window a couple of times before leaving. I reckoned he might be hungry, so I went out and looked for him.
After Ms. Ma Meow decided to look the man in a security uniform, she saw that he was about to eat some Mama noodles with a hard-boiled egg.
She then recalled the conversation she had with him:
Ms. Ma Meow: Uncle, what are you having?
Uncle: Mama noodles. I’m hungry.
Ms. Ma Meow: Do you want to try some shabu shabu?
Uncle: What is that?
Ms. Ma Meow: It’s like sukiyaki – the thing you just saw earlier.
Uncle: It must be expensive. I’m ok. Thank you, young girl.
Lied about winning the lottery so he would let her pay for him

Ms. Ma Meow then offered to pay for the meal but the uncle refused at first. She then told a little white lie, saying she’d just won the lottery, just so he would take her offer without having to feel guilty.
In her post, she said the uncle reminded her of her grandfather, who’d already passed away. Thus, she wanted to do something good for him.
After finishing the meal, the uncle asked Ms. Ma Meow for her phone number, saying he’d like to pay her back after getting paid. She politely refused, saying that she really wanted to treat him.

Thanks to her generosity, the comment section has been flooding with positive responses. Her humble action had a lot of people talking about the importance of sharing and being kind to other people.
