Wearing a face mask is highly encouraged to prevent virus spread and make everyone feel safer. But this idea hasn’t been fully embraced by everyone, with some begrudgingly doing so when asked.

On 24th May, a post office almost turned away a woman in Kyiv, Ukraine for not wearing a mask. Rather than walk away in shame and empty-handed, she quickly took off her panties and wore it on her face.

Footage that took place this past Sunday in a Nova Poshta post office showed a woman arguing with an employee. She pointed exasperatingly towards the exit, possibly to protest being shown the door. She then bent over and took off her pants.

Even though they reportedly offered her a mask, she instead wore her panties as a makeshift face mask. It is unknown if her refusal was out of spite or distrust, but she was visibly irritated.

No one appeared to be shocked by the woman’s actions. The woman was reportedly able to get her parcel once she complied with the rules. She also did not get in trouble for indecent exposure while stripping off her impromptu face mask.

However, it was the employee who posted the clip who got in trouble for posting the footage without permission from his company.

Ukraine currently has a policy stating its citizens should wear masks and carry an ID when going outside.

Be mindful of others’ safety

Despite many warnings, some still resist wearing a mask when going outside. While not everyone agrees on wearing face masks, it is still courteous to wear one for people around you.
