Ever since the surge of Covid-19 in April 2021, Thailand has been witnessing a number of cluster cases that have forced venues to temporarily – or even permanently – shut down. Latest in the list of venues facing closure is Bangkok’s Train Night Market in Ratchada, also called Talad Rot Fai or the Srinagarindra Train Night Market.
Last week, the famous night market’s permanent closure was the talk of the town. In a fortunate turn of events, the venue’s management have clarified the market is only shutting down temporarily.

Train Night Market Ratchada, or Talad Rot Fai, is only temporarily closed
On 30th July 2021, Train Night Market Ratchada – famously known as “Talad Rot Fai“- was said to be closing permanently. However, just days later, one of the market’s administrators claimed that the market will reopen once the circumstances improve, reported Coconuts Bangkok on 2nd August 2021.
Furthermore, media outlets asked the official for potential reasons why news about the Train Night Market’s closure spread so rapidly. The representative stated that she has no idea.

While speculation about the venue’s permanent closure was inaccurate, Train Night Market Ratchada has been closed ever since April in accordance with an order from City Hall.
