Tokyo Land at Amarin Plaza
Tokyo Land is a food cart in Amarin Plaza that sells ‘tokyo,’ a popular go-to snack in Thailand. And although this snack shares the same name as Japan’s capital, they don’t have other things in common – it actually means ‘Thai crepe.’
Signature item
Tokyo Land’s signature is its Jumbo Cheese Lover (฿85, ~USD2.5), that’s a giant hotdog wrapped in mozzarella, nacho cheese dip, tomato sauce, and a crispy crepe – sprinkled with cheese seasoning.
When we took a bite, the crepe was crusty and went well with the tender hotdog and the stringy and soft melted mozzarella.
And while the cheese dip and the seasoning enhanced a cheesy flavour of the tokyo, the tomato sauce added a sweet and slightly tangy flavour to round it off.
Just one Jumbo Cheese Lover was big enough to fill us up for hours after, so it makes for a perfect snack when you’re busy shopping all day.
We recommend all foodies to eat it hot to get that stretchy cheese pull and crispy crepe texture.
