Lockdown set to end 1 July

The end of the nationwide lockdown is approaching. After two months with strict preventive measures having been in place to curb the spread of COVID-19, Thailand has set a goal to lift its emergency decree and all lockdowns on 1st July.
What to expect on 1st July
On 28th May 2020, The chief of Thailand’s National Security Council said that the government has marked 1st July 2020 as the date for all lockdowns on business and activities, which have been temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This also comes with the reopening of interprovincial and international travel, and the end of the emergency decree and nationwide curfew.
NSC secretary-general Gen Somsak Rungsita also mentioned that the lift of all restrictions means a complete reopening of Thailand. People in the country are advised to still follow basic preventive measures such as wearing a face mask in public, obeying social distancing rules, and keeping sanitised.
Updates on reopening of businesses
As for now, many businesses have resumed operations. However, due to the risk of the virus spreading, some entertainment venues like bars, nightclubs, boxing stadiums and water parks are not going to be reopening in June, as it was earlier announced.
Also, movie theatres will remain closed for the time being as there are no new movie releases during this time, said Prime Minister’s Office Minister Tewan Liptapallop.
