Thai singer receives gifts

With all the happiness, excitement and all-around good vibes that entertainers work hard to exude, it’s only normal that fans would want to reciprocate that energy with gifts. Eve Pancharoen, more famously known as ‘Palmy’, seemed to hit the jackpot with fan gifts at her recent concerts.

Palmy’s fans concerned with her health

The most common greeting in Thailand is “taan-kaow-ru-yung”, which means “Have you eaten?”. The custom of asking someone when their last meal was versus how their day was is rooted in the importance of food in Thai culture – giving someone food is basically the most popular ‘love language’ out there.

So, it’s not so much of a surprise that Palmy’s fans would offer her provisions in the middle of a concert – the shock value comes from the freshness of the food. Last week, netizens shared the most surprising gifts they’ve seen Palmy receive on stage on the Facebook page, หนูน้อยบนยอดเขาอันหนาวเหน็บ.

The Facebook post said that the chicken was fresh from the oven, and many were shocked about the coconut’s freshness – it hasn’t even been taken apart from its bunch yet. Netizens were quick to comment on other gifts they’ve seen Palmy, and other singers get.

Food as a love language

These gifts that these singers have received are reminiscent of every Asian mum’s love language – cut fruit. It’s funny how these small habits have carried over into our adulthood, and ultimately how we show adoration to others.
