Adjusting to the pandemic in little ways

Thai grandpa makes a sign to pick up the right grandkidImages adapted from: Biony Bell Boonyuen

Now that the lockdown has been lifted, Thailand’s schools are allowed to operate once again. However, schools have to follow different precautions to keep all their students and staff safe from infection.

Students are required to wear face masks at all times during their school hours. With the same uniform, similar heights and hairstyle, plus with a face mask on, this grandpa started to get confused when picking up his grandchild after class.

Made a signboard with his grandchild’s nickname

A Facebook user named Biony Bell Boonyuen posted pictures of a man showing a sign that read ‘เค้ก (Cake)’, the child’s nickname, to find the right grandchild at school.

Translation: The new normal. Finding your child is harder when they are all wearing face masks. This is how to pick the right child. How cute is this grandpa.

Translation: I did it too. Attach an A4-sized sign in front of the car.

Translation: I used to ignore my own child. They look the same, haha.

Does anyone want to adopt this new technique? After all, grandpa and other parents confirm that it works!
