Singapore to Phuket cruise

Vacation seekers, it’s time to brace yourselves for the possible return of Singapore to Phuket cruises in Q3 2022 – that is, if a joint venture between Singapore and Thailand comes to pass in the near future.

If you’ve been planning an escape to Phuket’s pristine shores, here comes yet another way to cruise – pardon the pun – straight to your island getaway.

FYI, this will be very useful for those who are still undecided about a vacay via land, air or sea. We’ve done some research to help you plan a roadmap to your future holiday that’s the best of both worlds.

Guides on how to travel from Singapore to Phuket:

Cruise goers will be permitted to travel within Phuket

One of the best things about the current plan to resume cruises from Singapore to Phuket are that passengers will be allowed to disembark and travel within Phuket, reports The Phuket News.

Of course, there are limitations to these freedoms.

According to the plan, passengers exploring the island are required to follow pre-scheduled itineraries.

Additionally, they are to adhere to strict safety protocols including:

  • Keeping to limited passenger numbers
  • Social distancing
  • Mandatory mask-wearing

To ensure the safety of passengers, cruise staff such as tour guides will also be required to undergo regular testing and be fully vaccinated.

No RT-PCR tests needed to board cruises

While it is uncertain that these are the finalised protocols, we can sure look forward to updates in the coming months before its launch later this year.

As Thailand eases its travel restrictions, passengers will not need to take any RT-PCR tests to board. However, all passengers will need to be fully vaccinated and show an ATK test taken within 24 hours before departure.

Easing of Thailand’s travel rules from 1st April 2022

Since the pilot plan is due to launch in third quarter of 2022, it coincides nicely with Thailand’s approved plan to remove restrictions by 1st July 2022.

As of March 2022, we’re happy to report that the drafted proposal to resume cruises will be submitted to the central government in Thailand and has been floated to Singapore’s side for approval, reports Bangkok Post.
