Shabu eatery serves free meal & cake for girl’s birthday

Underprivileged man’s daughter served free meal and cake on her birthday
A heartwarming story of underprivileged family’s visit to Halo Shabu, a Shabu Shabu eatery, was widely shared by many Thai netizens after it was posted on the restaurant’s owner Facebook account, Panumas B. Sroitong, on 19th March 2022.
The viral post, garnering over 203K likes, told the story about a poor father who took his daughter to the Shabu eatery in Wang Chan district, Rayong, to celebrate the girl’s birthday.
The eatery’s waitress recounted hearing the father telling his child to eat alone, and that he would wait for her outside since he could only afford to pay for only one person’s meal.

However, his daughter refused to enjoy the meal without her father and agreed to celebrate her birthday somewhere else.

After being told by the waitress about what she had heard, Ms. Panumas then told the father and his child to enjoy the meal for free. The owner also surprised the girl with a birthday cake that she had bought from a nearby convenient store.

“I watched them eating together and I could see how much he loves his daughter”, the restaurant’s owner wrote on her post. After the meal, the father tearfully thanked her and other staff members for treating him and his daughter to free meal.
“I also told them to come back here on the father’s birthday to enjoy another meal for free. After the two left the restaurant, all of my staff burst into tears, and we were very happy as well”, said the generous eatery’s owner.

Following the meal, the father gave his daughter a warm hug in front of the restaurant before the two walked away.
