Another Thai province sees restrictions


Rayong has some popular tourist destinations, like Koh Samet, and is popular amongst locals. 

However, domestic tourism is once again seeing a dip due to the new outbreak of Covid-19 cases. In response to this, the Rayong Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration shared a list of places instructed to close or temporarily cease operations. 

This came into effect on 28th December 2020, as shared on The Nation Thailand.


1. Venues to closed within in the province until further notice


  • Boxing stadiums
  • Boxing gyms
  • Cockfight stadiums
  • Cockfight training grounds

2. Venues that will be closed in Rayong’s Muang District


  • All entertainment venues
  • Education Institutions
  • (Both Private and Public) Child Development centres and Early Childhood centres 
  • Internet cafes
  • Beauty clinics
  • Gyms and fitness centres
  • Public swimming pools
  • Public libraries
  • Massage parlours and spas
  • Tattoo parlours
  • Water parks
  • Playgrounds
  • Cinemas and theatres 
  • Amusement parks
  • All Department stores and shopping centres

List of exceptions:

  • Supermarkets
  • Pharmacies
  • Telecommunication businesses
  • Banks
  • Government offices
  • State enterprises
  • Permanent home services for Nurseries & Elderly Home Care
  • F&B venues are open only for take-aways

3. List of establishments outside the Muang District that may operate until 12AM


  • All entertainment venues
  • All business in the service industry

Act in compliance with government orders


  • Business owners need to set up safety measures accordingly with the government’s policies.
  • It’s compulsory for Individuals who partake in any activities to wear a mask, practice social distancing, and use the Thai Chana app to check in and out.
  • If the individual is located within the place that’s a risk of infection, they must be quarantined within a period of time that’s specified by the government.

Travel with responsibility


As there are more obvious signs of travel precautions in the midst of the pandemic, it’s essential to travel responsibly to stop the spread of virus. 

We all could hope for an end to the pandemic and things could go back to the way they were.
