The Chicken Buffet set (฿199, ~USD6.25) comes with a big bowl of ramen, in which you can choose 2 soup bases; tonkotsu and miso. The best part is that you’ll get an unlimited batch of karaage and tatsuta fried chicken.

Note: this promotion is up until 31st March 2020, so don’t wait.

First, we tried the Tonkotsu Ramen, a pork marrow bone soup with springy ramen noodles, slices of soft and succulent braised pork, sprinkled with scallions and jelly ear mushroom. The white-coloured soup was really aromatic and a tad sweet – a sign of a well-made broth. It also had thicker consistency as compared to the miso soup.

While having similar ingredients to the first dish, Miso Ramen had the signature scent of fermented soybean and the soup was a rich golden brown colour. The jelly ear mushrooms were also replaced with sweet corn. Those who aren’t fans of thick broths like myself would like this as it was lighter on the palate.

As for our fried chicken, the karaage had a dense and tender texture in comparison to the crusty and airy tatsuta. While the first one was coated in just flour batter, the latter came coated in breadcrumbs which gave it a crustier mouthfeel.

This is perfect for fried chicken enthusiasts who have different preferences. I had to go with tatsuta – crispy fried food all the way

Both types of fried chicken came with sweet chilli sauce, which is a perfect match for any fried food. The best part is there’s no time limit to the chicken buffet – hooray!

Don’t forget to pair your set with some unsweetened Iced Matcha (฿25, ~USD0.80) that we really liked. It wasn’t bitter at all and was easy to drink despite having no sugar added.
