Thailand’s resort island is back

Today, Thailand’s popular resort island Phuket is reopening for visitors after sealing its border for 2 months due to a high number of COVID-19 infections in the province.
Governor Pakkapong Thaweepat confirmed that the island will reopen Phuket International Airport and all of its 24 piers for domestic travelling on 1st June 2020.
Additionally, Sarasin Bridge, which connects the mainland and the island, is also fully opened for land transport.
As for the provincial prison, it will reopen for visitors on 8th June.

To prevent possible transmissions, visitors who come from provinces with new infections in the past 28 days must undergo a 14-day home quarantine. Bangkok, Nonthaburi, and Narathiwat are also on the list.
However, this condition will only be applied for folks who intend to stay on the island for more than 3 days. This means if you’re from Bangkok for a short visit, you don’t have to do the quarantine.
Let’s head south and get some of that vitamin sea, but never forget to protect yourself by wearing a mask and cleaning your hands regularly!
