Free tickets for mothers at Major Cineplex Thailand
Mother’s Day weekend is on the horizon in Thailand. If you’re still lost on what to do with your mother, catch a movie at Major Cineplex because they’re giving out free movie tickets for all mothers nationwide – Thai or not.
More than 20,000 movie tickets will be free during the Mother’s Day long weekend from 10th – 12th of August 2019. Note that they have ticket quotas for each day, so you better set your alarms – or have mom wake you up, since that always works better:
- 10th August 2019 – 6,000 tickets
- 11th August 2019 – 7,000 tickets
- 12th August 2019 – 7,000 tickets
This treat is brought to you buy Thai Life Insurance and Major Cineplex, and is only applicable for regular seating.
There are no booking in advance or online bookings for this offer. It will run on a first-come-first-serve system where you need to show up at the cinema’s ticket counters and inform the staff that you’d like to purchase this special offer.
Don’t forget to present them with the official documents for verification, like ID cards or passports, and a household certificate with your mother’s name on it for locals.
Get Mother’s Day freebies and special gifts
On Mother’s Day itself, which falls on 12th August 2019, Major Cineplex will be giving out 5,000 fabric jasmines for mother-and-child pairs watching movies together nationwide. Just be sure to notify the staff and, also bring your verification documents along to redeem the gifts.

Those visiting VIP theatres at Icon Cineconic, Emquartier CineArt, Mega Cineplex, and Paragon Cineplex will receive a free Thai-styled plastic jasmine garland*.
*While stocks last
Fun fact: Giving someone a garland in Thai culture signifies high regard and respect. Also, jasmine flowers are symbolic during Mother’s Day in Thailand.
Mothers over 60 can register for a free M card
All moms aged over 60 who love watching movies can register for a M Gen Freedom card for free (Usual Price: ฿150 fee) between 10th – 12th August 2019. The card comes with many benefits, including paying only ฿60 (Usual Price: ฿100-250 depending on branches) for a regular seat in theatres on every Tuesday.

Don’t forget to use the hashtags #SpecialMovieWithMom and #ให้รักดูแลชีวิต, and set your post to ‘Public’ too. And good news: This contest is open to anyone to join, and will run from now till 12th August 2019.
There will be 3 return trips from Bangkok to Taiwan and 2 from Bangkok to Vietnam up for grabs. Major Cineplex will announce the list of winners on their Facebook page on 15th August 2019.
