Long holidays in November?

After Thailand had a special 4-day Songkran holiday earlier this month and scored ฿8.8 billion in revenue despite the economic recession, the government is considering another long holiday in November.

On Tuesday, deputy prime minister Wissanu Krea-ngam revealed that the plan to create new public holidays was proposed by the Tourism and Sports Ministry. And it is being considered by the government at the moment.

According to Mr Krea-ngam, the dates are not yet confirmed. It will either be at the end of Buddhist Lent or the Loy Krathong festival.

Border to open soon

Thailand has been hit hard by the pandemic as we relied heavily on our tourism sector and while it is good to promote domestic tourism, we are also working on opening our borders to welcome foreign tourists at the moment.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) suggested that we need to allow foreigners to enter the country within this year, as many countries have already been doing, according to the Thai Enquirer.
