Hua Hin to reopen to overseas guests

Now that Koh Samui, Koh Tao, Koh Phang-Ngan, and Phuket have begun to welcome tourists again – these regions have created a stepping stone for other pilot projects to proceed as planned.

Following in their footsteps, Hua Hin is going to reopen to overseas guests by 1st October 2021. However, in the midst of Covid-19 rising cases, we’ve compiled how they’ll intend to contain the virus.

Recent Covid-19 updates:

Hua Hin to reopen while containing outbreaks

Hua Hin will officially reopen to vaccinated international guests – without having to undergo quarantine – by 1st October 2021, announced Mr. Prompiriya Kitnuson, Prachuap Khiri Khan’s provincial governor on 14th July 2021.

The province has set an ambitious goal to get 100% of all employees in the hospitality and the service industry fully vaccinated – whilst reaching a vaccination rate of 70% for the general public according to Bangkok Post.

Currently, only 8% of the population has been vaccinated. However, 50,000 Sinopharm vaccine doses are expected from the Thai government in order to reach their inoculation goal as reported by the Thaiger.

The Covid-19 situation is still ongoing, however, as roughly 969 infections occupy two-thirds of the available hospital beds within the province.

5,473 Phuket Sandbox tourists so far

As for already opened regions like Phuket, they’ve welcomed a total number of 5,473 guests so far – with 299 guests landing on 14th July 2021.

Ever since its reopening on 15th July 2021, this marks a total of 14 days since the island’s reopening.

So far they’ve only found three imported cases today at 7 AM, and we hope that they continue to contain any instances of Delta variant cases.

Overseas travel may slowly become normal again

In the midst of this global health crisis, Thailand is aiming to continue rebooting the tourism sector.

We’re cautiously optimistic that this is a sign that traveling is slowly going to be normalised again – but only under safe and controlled conditions that safeguard our citizens’ health.
