Hemp restaurants in Thailand
Many celebrated the Thai Government allowing the use of cannabis for culinary and cosmetic purposes in March 2021 – the announcement comes shortly before the globally celebrated 4/20, a day dedicated to commemorating cannabis culture.

1. HOP Beer House Korat
Thais say that the Northern province of Isan has a stronger sense of sabai sabai culture. So, for those who are looking for a place to achieve ultimate zen vibes, we’d recommend you head up to HOP Beer House Korat, the first hemp restaurant in the area.
HOP Beer House Korat’s hemp menu includes staple western dishes like pasta and pizzas; some of them are even topped with fresh cannabis leaves.
Mai pen rai translates to ‘not a thing’ – which is the antithesis of the restaurant’s Thai dish selection, as HOP Beer House Korat also serves local faves with hemp.
This joint is only a 3-4 hour drive away from Bangkok; interested visitors can also book a ~1.5 hour flight from the capital to Isan’s Nakhon Ratchasima Airport then drive for an hour to the HOP Beer House Korat.

2. Ma Chim Gun – ‘Let’s Taste It’
Chao Phraya Aphaiphubet Hospital is known among locals as pioneers of herbal medicine: the hospital took the dope initiative to start their Ma Chim Gun – or “let’s taste it” – project at their Aphaiphubet Day Spa last year.

Ma Chim Gun is known for adding hemp onto traditional Thai foods like minced-meat breakfast toasties.
Soupy dishes like Kuay Teow or noodles are also topped with fresh cannabis leaves.

3. KANOM SIAM – Hemp-infused pandan desserts
“Space cakes” are a crucial element for many popular “stoner” films and television series – Kanom Siam offers something similar with their hemp-infused coconut desserts.
Kanom Siam makes it easy for #420 friends to know which one of their desserts is hemp-infused; their baked Pandan Sweet Melt is bright lime green.

Six pieces of the hemp-infused pandan and coconut milk-rich dessert costs ฿170 (~USD5) and comes with a bottle of cannabis tea.

4. Baan Lao Rueng – Homestyle cooking with cannabis
Baan Lao Rueng is another cannabis-friendly restaurant in Prachinburi province operating under Chao Phraya Aphaiphubet Hospital.
Their home-style restaurant presents a cozy atmosphere for patrons to exchange stories of all kinds – after all, the eatery’s name does mean “house of storytelling”.
Attention all pad krapow (basil stir-fry) fans, Baan Lao Reung serves Pad Krapow Suk Jai or ‘happy heart basil’ for ฿140 (~USD4). They also offer other local favourites like chilli-fried shrimp or Kung Pad Ped.

6. Le Maison by Chef Billy – customisable dishes
Le Maison by Chef Billy is a western restaurant located in Bang Na area where customers can add hemp to a dish of their choosing for an extra ฿150 (~USD5).
Chef Billy also offers a separate cannabis menu with dishes, such as It’s Green Pesto at ฿379 (~USD12) or the very popular Wagyu Steak with Cannabis Butter – starting from ฿1,072 (~USD34), depending on the cut.
Le Maison by Chef Billy always seems to be crowded, so we’d recommend calling ahead to secure a table.

7. Khao Yai Calm – Green pastries and drinks
Khao Yai Calm is a new cafe series created by the co-working space, Class Cafe Siam Innovation District that serves hemp-infused delicacies in a quiet, casual setting.
Their Cannabis Tea ฿140 (~USD4) and Americano Cannabis ฿90 (~USD2) are some of the examples in their beverage selection.
Other than the beverages, they also offer baked goods like their Calm Croissant ฿99 (~USD3) and Cannabis Cookies ฿85 (~USD3).
Khao Yai Calm has two outlets: Khao Yai Calm RCA in Bangkok and Khao Calm Korat in Nakhon Ratchasima.

8. Eggs In The Lounge – Hemp egg dishes
This eco-friendly Thai hawker restaurant, Eggs In The Lounge is at Habito Mall within the On Nut area – they’re focused on egg dishes and brought ganchong into their kitchen.

Pad Krapao or stir fried basil with meat is a favourite to many Thais and foreigners, so of course Eggs in The Lounge would serve their Stir Fried Pork with Holy Basil & Cannabis at ฿199 (~USD6).

For those who need a sweet drink to cool down in Thailand’s hot and humid weather, the restaurant also has Cannabis-Infused Honey Lemon and Cannabis-Infused Calamansi Iced Tea at ฿95 (~USD3).
It is highly recommended to go during the afternoon, because it’s less busy during these hours. Plus, they can customise other dishes for you by adding a hemp leaf ฿50 (~USD2) into your order.

9. Ran Kiew Kai Ga Bangkok – flavours from all over Thailand
Ran Kiew Kai Ga Bangkok in Ladprao serves cuisine from all over Thailand.

10. Wizard Brewery – hemp cafe and bar in Pattaya
Wizard Brewery is located in Pattaya, a beach town that is 2-3 hours away by car from Bangkok.
For those who love tom yum soup, and happen to be around this beach town, their Tom Yum Ban Tueng Roeng Ra ฿240 (~USD7), which translates to “ecstatic spicy soup” will give you an extra smile during your weekend end beach trip.
Other than their Tom Yum menu, try giving their Yum Salmon Hunsa ฿295 (~USD9) a spicy salad that is said to bring “enthusiasm” through sashimi with an extra garlic-y flavour to it and, of course, cannabis.

11. IS AM ARE Pub & Restaurant – “smiling” seafood and alcohol
IS AM ARE Pub & Restaurant is a pub and restaurant that’s located around Rama 3 in Bangkok that regularly holds live music performances.
Many pubs in Thailand tend to have seafood dishes, because locals like to pair alcoholic drinks with sea creatures; IS AM ARE Pub & Restaurant took it a step further by adding “happy” seafood items to the menu.
They serve Pla Ka Pong Om Yim ฿339 (~USD11) or “smiling deep fried Sea Bass” topped with chilis and coriander.
If you want to try something that’s a little similar to tom yum soup, their Super Pa Plern ฿190 (~USD6), which means “super go with the flow”, is a hemp-infused spicy boiled chicken soup, that’s quite common in the Isan region.

12. Shabu Indy Phitsanulok – hemp joint in Phitsanulok
Shabu Indy Phitsanulok is located along Pracha Uthit Road near Nan River for those in the area looking to add a little 420 to your hotpot.
The hotpot restaurant does serve hemp leaves as part of their menu, but always seem to be running out due to their popularity, so best call ahead to check the availability.

Koko Japanese Restaurant – omakase cannabis-infused dishes
Koko Japanese Restaurant is offering an Omakase set of 15 hemp-infused dishes.
Currently, they’re offering the set for ฿3,555 (~USD113), which was discounted from ฿5,555 (~USD113).
These are some of the sample dishes that other customers have had – on the left is Hamachi Sashimi, whereas Matsusaka Wagyu Ishi Don is the one on the right.
Omakase is available only during three time slots, which are 12PM, 5PM and 7PM everyday so best call ahead and reserve your seats.
The restaurant is located in Harindhorn Building in the Sathorn area, where you’re allowed to park your car for three hours.
