Vaccine has to be approved by the FDA


Thailand is facing hundreds of new cases daily after months of the “New Normal”. The government seems to be responding swiftly with new regulations as well as accelerated vaccine programs. 

On 5th January 2021, Thai Prime Minister, Prayut Chan-o-cha voiced that the Royal Thai Government is looking to order more doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. He stressed that vaccines need to have no side effects and abide by safety standards of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha also announced that the Disease Control Department and National Vaccine Institute will work with the FDA to assure the vaccine’s utmost quality, as reported shared on NNT.


2 million doses from China already ordered and more vaccines in development


Recently, the Thai ministry of Public Health has made orders for 2 millions doses of China’s Sinovac Biotech Covid-19 vaccine. The first batch of 200,000 doses are set to arrive in February 2021.

The imported Covid-19 vaccines will serve as an addition to those being produced by Chulalongkorn University


Christmas may have just passed, but Covid-19 vaccines are arriving


Even though Christmas and New Year’s has been filled with more Covid-19 fears than joy, news about the vaccine productions sounds as good as a Christmas present.

This is a great opportunity for many to go back to their normal lives again.
