Though the number of new cases seem to be on a decline, the ministry is still concerned about the healthcare system’s ability to deal with the overall number of COVID-19 patients, which could get higher.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand chief, Chula Sukmanop, also mentioned that the extension was issued to help control the transmission of the virus, so the outbreak can see a nearer end.

As for now, passengers of all flights coming in before the latest update was announced are to be quarantined for 14 days as per normal. Further preventive measures have yet to be announced, so stay tuned for updates.
