Sushi is a dish that seems to be loved by all.

While the concept of premium raw fish atop a small bed of sticky vinegar rice definitely excites all of us, the price tags that some restaurants put on these dishes aren’t exactly a cause for celebration.

If you’re craving sushi, and particularly salmon-centered sushi, we’d suggest heading over to Daruma Sushi. At this Japanese buffet restaurant, visitors can enjoy a salmon buffet for only ฿299 (~USD9).

In the case of this buffet restaurant, parking isn’t a factor you need to worry about.

The establishment is just a three-minute walk from BTS Siam in Siam Centre.

Once there, you can browse through the menu and order on your own mobile phone using a QR code specific for your table.

This system eliminates hygiene concerns about touching menus that have been handled by countless customers, while the location frees your mind from worrying about parking. Sounds like a pretty sweet restaurant – and we haven’t even gotten to the food yet.

What we got at Daruma Sushi

When we visited, we went all in on the Salmon Buffet (฿299, ~USD9).

As the package’s name suggests, those who order the set can enjoy unlimited amounts of salmon-centric dishes for 90 minutes.

Of course Salmon Sashimi is on the menu. The sashimi platters in different sizes: ranging from 10 – 30 pieces per serving.

Sushi plates are also available at the restaurant. While each maki was obviously freshly prepared and satisfied our raw fish cravings, our favourite order had to be the Grilled Salmon Sushi.

Sliced pieces of salmon are seasoned with sesame oil before being topped with rich mozzarella cheese, delivering a burst of creamy and umami flavours with every bite.

The second we heard about a restaurant that was offering a salmon buffet for less than $10, we knew we had to go there. Upon trying the different offerings at Daruma Sushi, to say that we were impressed with the price-quality ratio would be an understatement.

This buffet restaurant is a must-visit for anyone with serious cravings for raw fish, and a strong aversion to over-paying for it.

Daruma Sushi is also always posting different offers on their Facebook page, so they may just have even better deals in the future. Hey, who knows? Maybe we’ll have to write a second review for another one of the establishment’s sweet packages.
