Gold Line trains are in Thailand

After facing a delay due to the pandemic, BTS monorail Gold Line is set to officially open to the public on 29th October 2020 as all 3 driverless trains have arrived in Thailand.

According to The Nation, the trial period for the gold line will begin immediately so people can hop on it for free until the slated opening date, after which rides will cost ฿15 (~USD0.50)/person.

However, the specific date for the beginning of the trial period has not been mentioned.

The first phase of BTS Gold Line that will open on the marked date consists of 3 stations Charoen Nakhon (ICONSIAM), Klong San (Taksin Hospital), and Krung Thon Buri – the latter of which links to the BTS Green Line.

As for the second phase, though the construction date is yet to be confirmed, will add another station to the route and connect to the MRT Purple Line.
