Popular franchise gyms in Bangkok such as Virgin Active and Fitness First have gone on social media to announce their temporary shutdown, prioritising the safety of their patrons.

BASE Bangkok, which has gyms in 3 locations across the city, made an announcement on Facebook yesterday informing followers that a member of the gym had tested positive for COVID-19.

It was mentioned that they trained at the gym’s outlet at Amarin Plaza on 10th and 12th March 2020, prior any symptoms showing. It is unknown if the member could have been infected at that point.
