Giant food in Bangkok
Samyan, situated near Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, is a lively neighbourhood packed with famous food stores, cafes, street art, e-sport hub, and shopping malls.
Auan Pom Steak Samyan is another must-visit restaurant hidden in this area which serves up super-sized steak sets to challenge all big eaters.
An huge steak set served on a giant plate
Auan Pom Steak Samyan offers various dishes, from familiar street food meals like pad thai and basil pork, to a super sized steak set – now that’s what we came for.
You can choose the level of your own food adventure when picking the items you want. They serve steak, starting from a normal sized plate (from ฿90), a dish with 2 items (from ฿160), 3 items (from ฿249) and up to 9 items (from ฿720).
We tried the giant steak set with 4 items (฿400) that came with 2 pieces of pork cordon bleu, a crispy chicken cutlet topped with cheddar cheese, spaghetti in tomato sauce, bacon, hams, fries, toast and salad.
They not only offered a big plate but also big pieces of meat too.
What we loved the most was the crunchy pork cordon bleu, which came filled with a flavourful ham and chewy cheese. The chicken cutlet was also crispy and went well with the buttery taste of the added cheddar cheese.
The dish was more filling with the added spaghetti in tomato sauce. The sauce had a slightly sweet taste from the tomatoes and a generous portion of minced pork.
The shop didn’t overcook the bacon, so it still retained a juicy and chewy texture of fat and meat.
If crispy cutlets are not your style, you can also customise your own giant dishes with a selection of other steaks of meat like black pepper T-bone, pork chops, grilled salmon, bacon, ham, sausage, and more.
We finished the dish – but be warned that you’d probably need at least 2-3 stomachs of friends to help finish it.
Challenge yourself at Auan Pom Steak Samyan
Auan Pom Steak Samyan is hidden in a food court on the 2nd floor of Samyan Market which takes around 10 minutes from Samyan MRT and Samyan Mitrtown by foot.
The open-air canteen is spacious and packed with fans to cool you down on a hot day.
The place is another spot worth visiting for foodies to experience a filling meal at an affordable price. If you are around Siam or Chula, take a walk and check this out.
