COVID-19 update in Thailand

Thailand’s COVID-19 measures seem to be heading in the right direction, with only 38 new infections declared today – bringing it to 2,258 in total.
This is the lowest number of cases reported in a day since 20th March – replacing yesterday’s number of 51 cases.
Spokesman of the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration Taweesin Visanuyothin said that the new 38 cases include:
- 17 contracted the disease from previous patients
- 7 worked in crowded areas with foreigners
- 3 went to crowded areas
- 3 health workers
- 3 Thai returnees from overseas
5 cases are still under investigation.
1 new death – 27 in total
Mr. Visanuyothin said the 27th death was a 54-year-old man who partied in the Thong Lor area of Bangkok.
The deceased reportedly suffered from severe pneumonia and he tested positive for COVID-19. He didn’t have any report regarding chronic diseases.
Out of 2,258 cases, 824 patients have been fully recovered and discharged while 1,407 are still being treated in hospitals.
This is such great news to hear. We hope that the rate will only get lower in days to come.
