Thailand has 1 new COVID-19 related death, bringing the total number of deaths to 10. It was reported to be an “unnamed musician” who worked in nightclubs, who died at a hospital in the northeastern region after falling sick, Khaosod reports.

Yesterday, it was reported that 2 people died from the virus on Sunday – a 54-year-old Thai man in Yala who had returned from Malaysia, and a 56-year-old Thai woman in Bangkok.

127 new cases have also been declared, with the country now having 1,651 accumulated infections. Of this, 244 are foreigners.

Taweesin Visanuyothin, government crisis response centre spokesman, said that the number of new infections daily seem to be decreasing – 127 new today compared to 136 cases yesterday. However, health officials shared that cases are likely to “keep rising”. Many new cases have been reported outside Bangkok, prompting provinces like Phuket and Yala to go into lockdown.
