I've never stayed here, but I've come here for photography and attended a few functions in the ballrooms. The water fountain near one of the entrances was perfect to document with in macro. The sun was out and I managed to get quite a few decent pictures. The interior is a little dark, so I don't recommend taking pictures there. The place was very elegant, everything from the elevators to the toilets were spotless.
The ballrooms are massive, lavishly and tastefully decorated. They definitely pay close attention to detail, and some of their little touches, like Damask drapes on the chair or a single flower on the table. All of these add to ambience, and add a touch of polished professionalism to their already talked-about service. Definitely a great place for people looking for some good pictures or good hands to organise an event.
The 5 star experience at Mandarin Oriental begins right from the check-in. After the paperwork is done, they not only issue you your keys but show you all the way up to your room and make sure you’re properly settled in. The room we stayed in was probably the most basic one but is spacious enough to fit an additional bed if you request for one. The provision of bath salts is a unique touch here.
Also worth mentioning is the service of the staff here – they are very helpful and willing to accommodate special requests such as help with a birthday surprise. A stay here is definitely going to be comfortable and enjoyable.
