Whenever I feel like something sweet, twelve cupcakes if always there to satisfy my cravings. With 15 outlets all over Singapore and reasonably priced cupcakes, there's a flavour for everyone at twelve cupcakes.
My personal favourites are their red velvet and their chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting. The cakes are light but not overly dry (even though I would prefer them to be more moist). I also really like the cream cheese frosting that isn't too sweet. I personally really hate it when red velvet cupcakes are topped with sugary fondant instead of actual cream cheese frosting.
Honestly, I don't ever buy cupcakes from Twelve, even when I'm having a huge craving for them. They just don't strike me as anything special. In fact, I find their cupcakes mediocre.
For one, I hate the cream cheese on the cupcakes. It's my personal preference, because I know of friends who simply love Twelve for the cream cheese. Second, the cupcakes are extremely small for their prices. They're smaller than the cupcakes from other places, but the prices are equivalent or higher.
As a fan of red velvet, I had a go at their red velvet cupcakes once. I removed the cream cheese. The cupcake was.... well. Nothing special, nothing fantastic. So I can never understand the craze over Twelve, and why they're opening up everywhere.
Ever since Twelve Cupcakes opened an outlet at IMM, as a west sider, I've been frequenting the outlet to satisfy my sweet tooth once in a while.
The tiny cakes are wrapped prettily in the cupcake paper cups, each bursting with flavour. They are moist, fresh, and fluffy, which taste so good! Twelve Cupcakes' Daily Specials always tempts me to check for new flavours. I especially love the red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting.
As the cupcake bakery opened its first outlet in Taiwan, it seems like it has gain high recognition for it's delicious cupcakes. This can be seen as Kimberley Chen, a Chinese Australian singer based in Taiwan, often posts pictures of cupcakes from Twelve Cupcakes on her Instagram.
Indeed, Twelve Cupcakes is the place to visit for a lovely cup of goodness.
After hearing all the hype about Twelve Cupcakes, I decided to give them a try. At first look, the cupcakes were too cute to be eaten, with swirls of cream topped with shaved chocolate or chocolate heart shapes. I bought the pack of 12 mini cupcakes to sample all the different flavours. They were rich with ingredients and were moist. Ultimately one of the best cupcakes I've tasted.
The only downside of these fabulous cupcakes was the price. It might be a little expensive at $3.20 for the regular sized ones. Though a little hard on the wallet, getting them once in awhile will definitely satisfy the sweet tooth in me.
I was first attracted into the shop by the classy yet cute designs of the cupcakes. They looked simply irresistible, and since my first purchase I have been hooked. My favourite flavour is the peanut butter and jam, with the savoury topping atop a vanilla cupcake. Yum!
I must admit the price is not the most wallet-friendly, therefore I only splurge when I really need a sweet treat to brighten up the day.
What really gets on my nerves is that if you takeaway a single cupcake, it will be packed into this little container in a very unstable manner, resulting in the topping of the cupcake smearing everywhere by the time I reach home. This ruins the picture-perfect look of the cupcake and takes away some of the joy.
It was my friend's 18th Birthday so we wanted to surprise her with something special and unique. Everyone expects a cake for their birthday which is a little dull so we came up with the genius idea of getting cupcakes for her birthday. Since she was turning 18, needless to say we decided to get her 18 cupcakes!
My friend has quite a big family so we let her bring home two boxes(each box has half a dozen) while we ate the remaining box. I picked up the earl grey flavoured cupcake and it tasted fantastic! You could taste the earl grey in the icing and fused with the cupcake, it was awesome! For those who are tea fanatics like me, it is a must try! But what I heard is that the earl grey flavoured one is only served on Thursdays so keep that in mind!
I love the design of the cupcake, it's simple and classy at the same time. The idea of having unique flavours only available on each day of the week makes it unique and tempting as if you want to try the specific flavours, you could only purchase it on a specific day.
I can't wait to try their green tea cupcake!
I really do enjoy the cupcakes from twelve cupcakes! My personal favorites are the red velvet and cookies and cream. When you bite into each cupcake, there is a adequate amount of cream cheese topping and cake you get in each bite which is delightful. The cupcake is very moist and delicious by itself. It is quite expensive and I think it would be better if it was slightly cheaper. The theme of white, black and pink of twelve cupcakes shops are very classic and chic. It is an apt ambiance for the delicious cupcakes they serve. I am really enticed each time I walk past a branch! I would love to go back more often however the prices are too steep for my liking currently.
Visited their store at United Square, good ambience, friendly sales assistant and good cupcakes. Tried their red velvet cupcake, the sponge of the cake is nice however the cream cheese that goes on top of the sponge is slightly too sweet for me.
What i like and would recommend to my friend is that their cupcakes varieties on the shelves aren't stagnant. Example if you come by on Monday, they have Earlgrey & Lychee, on Tuesday, they have Peppermint Chocolate. It would be a good choice for those who likes cupcakes but doesn't want to taste the same old flavour of the cupcakes. Do check out their website as they have which flavour selling on which day.
I think that the cupcakes from twelve cupcakes are unique and cute as compared to the other cupcakes we see, they have cream in the cupcakes but the cupcakes from twelve cupcakes have cream topping with different designs and patterns. I do buy it from time to time to share with my friends when we have gatherings.
I think it is suitable to buy these cupcakes for parties, gatherings or other events where it involves many people. However, I think it is a little expensive. I find that the staff are rather friendly with them always having a smile on their faces when serving the customers.
You know the saying, "Money can't buy happiness but it can buy cupcakes and they are sort of the same thing"? Yes it's true! I love cupcakes. They are little bundles of joy and surprise in a cupcake holder.
Priced at 3 dollars per cupcake, it is slightly expensive but they have many kinds of flavours and it brightens up your day just by looking at it so why not? This is a definite must-go place if you are feeling down. My personal favourite is their peanut butter-chocolate cupcake and the red velvet. The red velvet cupcake is moist while the chocolate peanut butter cupcake is a perfect combination of flavours.
The only downside is that there isn't anything too special about the cupcakes other than the interesting flavours and the moistness.
