Growing Up was a family drama I watched when I was a little kid. Even then, I remember following the plot closely and it was a regular affair to watch it weekly with my family.
The trials and tribulations faced by the Tay family were not the only highlight, I loved the changing of the times shown brilliantly. From post-war Singapore to modern-day HDB flats, the evolution of Singapore was beautifully chronicled in Growing Up.
I was glad when it ended, though, as I felt it was getting too draggy and melodramatic towards the last two seasons. Nevertheless, a great production from our island!
