Prepare a box of tissues if you’re going to catch Miracle in Cell No. 7. In this Korean film, a mentally handicapped father is wrongly accused of a crime and is sent to prison, while his daughter fights for his innocence. The deep father-daughter bond will guarantee an emotional rollercoaster ride.

Comedy is cleverly weaved into this tear-jerker, where the inmates’ pull hilarious antics as they strategise to reunite the main characters. Your feelings get all tangled up when you find yourself laughing and crying all at once.

Above all, it offers insight into the law, justice, and death sentences. This heartwarming, tearful film has to be one of my all-time favourites.
