I recalled flicking my television on at 9pm to tune into 'The Little Nyonya'. I was instantly greeted by Joanne Peh acting as a mentally unstable patient who was serenaded by a sea of cockroaches. Impressive. I will certainly never, ever so ever agree to be swamped by an ocean of insects no matter the species. It still irks me whenever I chance upon even a plastic replica of those repulsive looking creepy crawlies.

Frankly, I thought Joanne Peh would not stay on screen permanently. She exuded a queer vibe; like her acting career was a part time situation that enabled her to quench her boredom. Hence, I was taken aback when she began plopping back onscreen via both TV shows and commercials. Lots of it. She brought along a mysterious sense of memorability towards the items that she endorsed. Walk to the left, the right, front and back. I'd see her face plastered everywhere accompanied by a gigantic bottle of Lux. Oh no, it doesn't end there. Her commercials conquered the advertising sector onscreen too. They're repeated a gazillion times till viewers like me had the knack of memorising those commercial lines of hers.

On screen, she looked like the sweet and totally approachable lady. But off screen, there was this news where she argued with some waiters or waitresses over a glass of water. So which is her real character?

Being a public figure can be stressful and it was easy to get negative news for the smallest of incidents. I believed for the restaurant incident, it may just a small miscommunication that got blown out of proportion. Joanne must still be the likeable character that she portrayed in front of the TV cameras.

There is a Chinese saying "树大招风". Translated, it means when you are prominent, you will need to face the wind. If someone is willing to write about such a trivial incident, it must mean she is prominent enough.

She has such a beautiful look and devilish figure women would kill for to have.
On top of that, Joanne Peh can be considered a veteran actress as she has starred in many films before - Channel 8, Channel U or Channel 5; the effectively bilingual individual has put up great performances in shows that receive high views from the public.

She used to be one of my favourite actress - that sunny and congenial disposition of her emanates an comfortable aura that paints her to be one of those approachable and amiable person. I love her smile - the dazzling pearlie whites are highly appealing.

However, it is recent (or maybe not so recent) that reports on Joanne Peh's disrespectful behaviour has undeniably and inadvertently spoiled the once perfect image of her in my mind. Maybe it's simply me and my inaccurate assumption based on unfounded theories and reasons, I've observed some transformations in her character and personality.

I shall not comment further, lest her fans come after me. However, it is undeniable that she is a talented star that deserves recognition from the rest of us.

Joanne Peh is one of the only few remaining talented actresses in Singapore.

Charismatic and gorgeous, she has taken the Singapore media industry by storm and contributed towards the revolutionizing of television after some programmes went awry and some actresses and actors failed to do their part.

Her performance in Code of Law is simply splendid, truly magnificent. Gifted with beauty, brains and talent, she puts them to good use and never fails to deliver.

With her sunshiney good looks and killer figure, she's one to watch out for.

One of the most popular actresses in Singapore, I feel that Miss Peh has come a long way since her days of Miss Singapore Universe. Blessed with good looks and charisma, she caught the eye of the judges in 2002, and has not looked back since.

Although I personally like Felicia Chin and Fiona Xie more, I feel that Joanne Peh is a powerhouse in her own right. She showed how versatile she was as an actress she could be in The Little Nyonya, and has won numerous awards since her debut. I hope that she can expand into the regional scene into the near future; she is simply too talented to be stuck in Singapore.

She's everywhere!

Appointed as the ambassador of Jetstar, Laurier and many more, Joanne is literally everywhere! She is best known(in my opinion) as the mentally unstable Huang Yuzhu in The Little Nyonya, which granted her a Best Actress award in 2009. She then further proved her acting chops when she won the same award in 2012.

12 awards at the age of 28. Looks good for a resume/portfolio, I would say! Although I'm not really a fan of her, I enjoy reading her blog. She hasn't updated her blog in months, though, she's still active on other social media sites like Twitter and Instagram.

Possibly the next Ah Jie(of course including Rui En and Jeanette Aw), Joanne is the second Mediacorp actress to have won two Best Actress awards. The other actress is none other than the lovable Chen Li Ping, aka Miss Ai-Yo-Yo" (哎哟哟老師).

Other than acting, Joanne has also ventured into hosting. She has hosted the President's Star Charity 2005 and The Activist Journey.
