Akit Tay debuted onscreen as a Mediacorp actress, with the lead role, in a local Mandarin drama called 'The Enchanted'.

She was originally a Malaysia based model that frequently represented the country. She was previously known as the victor for Johor Island Finals 2009 and even took on the title, 'Miss Malaysia'. She was also an active participant for numerous beauty pageants and is no stranger to runways.
