Each time I walk into daiso to get something I need, I end up with more items of want than need. I guess this is because of all the eye-catching Japanese wares, which are pretty and really utilitarian. The respective sections of items are big, clear, and jump out at patrons – they make finding minuscule items in the humongous all-in-one store hiccup-free.

What made the shopping experience less perfect was the customer service. I wasn't sure if the pencil I bought counted as 1 item, or was to be sold in threes for $2. I approached the customer service staff and enquired, but was greeted back with a short and insincere "no". This put me off as I asked politely but did not get a courteous reply back.

Overall, Daiso is a fantastic place to get (nearly) anything you need for $2. Just don't expect very good customer service.

I first went to Diaso years and years ago and it always seemed like a wonderland filled with goodies and this hasnt changed! Love shopping there for all the cheapo stuff, because like why buy a $7.90 corkboard at other bookstores when you can get it at Daiso?

It's always nice to walk into Daiso. The things are cheap and they have very interesting variety. I say some of their things that seem wacky are actually quite useful. Also, some things that are sold elsewhere for a much higher price are only $2 at Daiso. So don't think just because they're cheap means their stuff are lousy. Some items are of good quality.

But because their stuff are all $2 each, you may end up buying things you don't need. I suggest you shortlist the items in your shopping basket before paying. Really many things that look nice or cute may not be useful to you. Don't forget that 5 items is $10 and 10 items is $20.

Also, don't anyhow buy their skin care stuff just because they're cheap. Some things may cause more problem so just be careful.

Daiso is the to-go place for everything weird and wonderful. It's like walking into someone's kooky collection of things you never knew you needed.

I once bought a pair of knee-high fluffy socks with teddy bears printed on them - just because they were cute and "$2 only!".

I've also found my fair share of gift packaging and useful winter gear in Daiso. If you have a specific item you're searching for, go in single-minded and resolute. Chances are you'll end up with 5 other items you didn't need but just decided to buy anyway.

Every time I walk into Daiso and tell myself to only buy the things I need, I always end up getting distracted by all the pretty things and end up buying more than I need to. But it doesn't matter, because everything is so visually appealing, useful and affordable!

Daiso has everything. I'm not even kidding. From daily necessities to gifts and food, there'll always be something for everyone. I love visiting the food section, because there's a wide array of delicious Japanese snacks being sold at prices cheaper than the other imported goods supermarkets.

I love Daiso's gift boxes too. They come in so many colours and patterns, and are perfect to use for storing gifts to give to others. The boxes can be reused as pretty storage boxes after that, so it's definitely value for money. There only section I wouldn't touch would probably be the skincare/cosmetics section, since the quality of $2 cosmetics isn't very reassuring. But other than that, everything's good!

Affordable and they have great Japanese snacks

The best part about Daiso has got to be the food. The caramel corn is extremely good and it's pretty cheap considering how much actually comes in one packet.

The outlet at IMM probably has the widest variety of flavours of caramel corn. My friend and I were in there once and I was drawn to the packet in green for some reason and I really wanted it but I had no idea what it was, because the packaging was in Japanese. After some consideration, I bought it and it turned out to be matcha. It was really good and not too overpowering with the bitter taste of green tea, creating a good balance between the sweet caramel, and bitter tea taste. It's also cheaper in comparison to Japanese markets, where they sell them for $2.50. $0.50 might not seem like a lot, but when you buy 10 packets like I do, it adds up to a significant amount for crisps.

Futile effort of listing things to purchase from Daiso

Don't bother listing what you need to buy from Daiso because I'm sure you would come out with lots of things that you didn't plan to buy in the very first place.

The thought of every item selling at 2 dollars makes every consumer feel so willing to buy anything that was in store that has caught their eyes. I am no different. I could easily spend up to 50 dollars in Daiso or spent 1 hour shopping in that store. What is so good about Daiso is that it sells almost everything- toiletries, food, food containers, stationaries, gift wrappers, home decorations and more. You can probably find almost anything you want or the next best alternative if you can't find the exact item that you wanted.

Do not be skeptical about the qualities of the goods! Their products may not have the finest quality but the quality is acceptable for a 2 dollar worth of item. It is certainly one of the best stores around in Singapore.

Daiso is basically, an affordable addiction. Everything is priced at 2 bucks, and you can get just about anything you need. Make-up? Check. Toilet brush? Check. Gloves for your trip to Genting? Check. Daiso provides for your lifestyle, at affordable prices. (That would probably work well as a gimmick for them.)

It is just impossible to wander in with 1 item to get and exit with just that. The 2 dollar concept sticks to your mind and manifests like a viral. But you'd be amazed by what you can get with just a mere 2 bucks. Daiso products are really of decent quality, contrary to popular belief that cheap and quality are on two opposite ends.

I have recently purchased their Blackheads Pore Pack (a pack of four) which I've heard tons of good reviews about, and am thoroughly impressed. Oh, they have Muji-like containers too, offering them for half the price. I'd personally head over to any of the outlets if I were looking for a household item, before heading to departmental stores or the sorts. ;)

In my opinion, the star attraction in IMM in Jurong East is Daiso. This shop is a must-visit place every time I enter IMM.

When my kid was quite young, he enjoyed pushing the trolley as it made him feel grown-up and in control. Another great thing about the trolley is its ability to hold 2 baskets--one in the upper level and the other in a lower level. Usually we'll put our belongings in the lower level basket and put our purchases in the upper level basket. Daiso also had child-friendly trollies for very young children to sit in.

Of course, the greatest news is--all the items are priced at $2! For some shoppers, they spend as much time removing items they decided they don't need from their baskets as putting in the items they want. The cashiers also had an easier time--they don't need to scan in any items; they just count the items and multiply the number by 2 to get the total payment amount. I wonder whether someone can suggest to the management that it's much, much easier for the cashiers to multiply by 1 instead of 2...

There are an amazing number of items sold in the store for just $2. Impossible to list out all. But here are some items I think are very good value for money or I can't find anywhere else. Some of them may be out of stock:
1) tea caddies and tea strainers
2) transparent plastic shoe boxes (get the largest size, of course!)
3) winter items like gloves
4) 750ml - 1l size glass containers
5) metal containers (get the largest size)
6) household organisers (any large item that helps to organise items in the home)

I will in general avoid buying stationeries (like pens, erasers and rulers), cosmetics, clothing items (like stockings and ties) and household items (like brooms and clothes hangers). There is a greater variety of stationeries in Popular, cosmetics in Sasa, and household items in provision shops, and these stores often provide better prices or better quality than Daiso.

All in all, Daiso is a great place to shop, but you must be smart enough to recognise which items are value for money (usually the larger items are!), or are only available in Daiso. Above all, make sure they are items that you need and will use!

Daiso has transitioned from a pure shopping activity to an entertaining one. Here, you’d find all sorts of necessities to knick-knacks at a mere $2! Numerous items I’ve gotten and are well worth the two dollars are cutlery, vases, tablecloths, and cute festive décor (you’d be surprised at the choices!) It is easy to find yourself lost along the numerous aisles, but to locate a staff member could prove to be more of an endeavour than finding your own way out. Treat it as hide and seek if you will! Daiso is the place to be on when you’re bored.
