Daiso’s DIY V-shape Face Roller
Overall Rating

3.0
While the Japanese are well-known for their wacky inventions, many still swear by their beauty products. Growing up, I never liked my round face so the idea of a DIY face lift seemed very appealing. The rationale is that the rolling motion of the face roller promotes blood circulation, which helps to lose fat in that area. While I was initially skeptical, I diligently used Daiso’s $2 face roller every day at my chin area and jawline.

After two months, I didn’t see a significant difference in terms of the sharpness of my jawline, but my cheeks appeared to be less chubby. Placebo effect or not, the face roller did help to reduce the stress and tension of my face muscles. In the long run, it can also help to reduce wrinkles by lifting my laugh lines and chin.

The effects of the face roller may not be visible during the early stages, but if there’s a chance to save my face, I’m definitely taking it.

Looking for cute stationery or craft items? Searching for cheap and user-friendly cosmetic products? Or simply, wanting to grab an interesting Japanese snack? Daiso has it all! Since its recent opening in Singapore, many Daiso outlets have sprouted up all over the island. Its main attractiveness is due to the wide range of products available at just $2 each. Daiso is a good place for those needing everything at once but are low on cash.

Whenever I visit Daiso, I would usually get a couple of keychains and mobile phone holders as the petite items always amuse me. There are also snacks from there that I love, such as the caramel corn snack as the crackers have a unique sweet-salty flavour, and there are many of it in one packet, making this snack worth its price.

However, if you are an impulsive buyer, the $2 spent on each product may add up to over $20 or even $30! I would advise anyone patronizing the store to choose your purchases wisely (and not get too attracted by the lovely items), so as to not end up burning a hole in your pockets.

I loved to browse around Daiso, for everything is priced at $2. The quality of the products are generally good and definitely worth more than $2 in my eyes but others can be bought at a lower price elsewhere. I presume that’s their marketing strategy, to earn from certain goods and loss from others, in order to attract the crowd.

While the products are cheap and the wide variety of goods sold are impressive, many of which I’ve truly no idea what’s the use or how to use, the long queues at the cashier (most of the time) deterred me from making purchases, particularly when I’ve only 1 or 2 products to buy. Makes me feel like I’m wasting my time to queue just for that few items. On the other hand, people might fall into the trap of buying more products (which they do not have actual use of) since they are going to queue anyway to make the time more worthwhile.

I guess you can’t have the best of both worlds, having low-priced and quality products without having to sacrifice time in queuing and making the purchases.

The $2 store!

You will be amazed by what Daiso can offer you! When I first know of Daiso, I thought it is just like any other budget store. However, I was proved wrong when I first stepped in there! There is a huge range of products ranging from tidbits to cosmetics to accessories to toiletries to stationeries to storage containers to cooking utensils/tools!

Basically, Daiso is a place where you can find almost everything and all these are priced at an affordable price of only S$2 per item! The next time you want to get something which you can't seem to find outside, why not try Daiso? You never know what you will find in that tightly packed store!

Diaso, as we all know, it has been famous for its everything-at-$2 slogan. What more can you ask for?! Everything is sold to you at $2!

However despite the fact that it being so cheap, the quality of its good isn't really good, that somehow explain why it is sold this cheap. Alright, i agree that while some people just go for the stuff, others do concern about the quality. For instance, sometimes for me, although I'm those kind of person who loves buying cheap affordable stuff, the quality of the goods is also one of the criteria when I shop for things to buy as a customer. Though the quality of the goods sold in Diaso isn't that bad, but sometimes it just seem budget. In addtion, sometimes because everything is sold at such a low price, people tends to make a big mistake in grabbing baskets and baskets of stuff, thinking that everything is just $2 and forgetting the fact that every bucks add up. So to all shoppers, be mindful of what you need to buy, and keep in mind that your $2 might just snowball and burn a big hole in your pocket!

The one stop destination for buying the most unnecessary items. I was amazed at how everything in Daiso is only priced at $2 although the quality of the products are really quite excellent. It even has food products that are imported from Japan itself priced very reasonably - at $2. This is where everything starts, because of the cheap price of everything it makes everything seem relatively buyable. This is in itself the worse trap, so be warned because it may seem that every item is very cheap but after taking a whole basket full of things, the bill is certainly not going to be that little. I found myself in this situation a dozen of times and ended up going home with things that I did not need at all but found them 'very cute' or 'i might use it' and just bought it 'because its $2'.

Although the place is very neatly arranged and the things are relatively easy to find in the respective shelves, walking to and fro countless times in the shop is not advisable. I got very dizzy as the shop is very brightly lit and after looking at rows and rows and section after section of items it really gives one a headache because there is just too many things to look. Furthermore, the space is rather small so aisles can be very close to each other and it would make it seem like really an ant looking at a whole giant warehouse of items.
