In my opinion, the star attraction in IMM in Jurong East is Daiso. This shop is a must-visit place every time I enter IMM.

When my kid was quite young, he enjoyed pushing the trolley as it made him feel grown-up and in control. Another great thing about the trolley is its ability to hold 2 baskets--one in the upper level and the other in a lower level. Usually we'll put our belongings in the lower level basket and put our purchases in the upper level basket. Daiso also had child-friendly trollies for very young children to sit in.

Of course, the greatest news is--all the items are priced at $2! For some shoppers, they spend as much time removing items they decided they don't need from their baskets as putting in the items they want. The cashiers also had an easier time--they don't need to scan in any items; they just count the items and multiply the number by 2 to get the total payment amount. I wonder whether someone can suggest to the management that it's much, much easier for the cashiers to multiply by 1 instead of 2...

There are an amazing number of items sold in the store for just $2. Impossible to list out all. But here are some items I think are very good value for money or I can't find anywhere else. Some of them may be out of stock:
1) tea caddies and tea strainers
2) transparent plastic shoe boxes (get the largest size, of course!)
3) winter items like gloves
4) 750ml - 1l size glass containers
5) metal containers (get the largest size)
6) household organisers (any large item that helps to organise items in the home)

I will in general avoid buying stationeries (like pens, erasers and rulers), cosmetics, clothing items (like stockings and ties) and household items (like brooms and clothes hangers). There is a greater variety of stationeries in Popular, cosmetics in Sasa, and household items in provision shops, and these stores often provide better prices or better quality than Daiso.

All in all, Daiso is a great place to shop, but you must be smart enough to recognise which items are value for money (usually the larger items are!), or are only available in Daiso. Above all, make sure they are items that you need and will use!

Daiso has transitioned from a pure shopping activity to an entertaining one. Here, you’d find all sorts of necessities to knick-knacks at a mere $2! Numerous items I’ve gotten and are well worth the two dollars are cutlery, vases, tablecloths, and cute festive décor (you’d be surprised at the choices!) It is easy to find yourself lost along the numerous aisles, but to locate a staff member could prove to be more of an endeavour than finding your own way out. Treat it as hide and seek if you will! Daiso is the place to be on when you’re bored.

Daiso! I’m always happy to just walk into Daiso and discover what I may discover at Daiso.

For only $2, Daiso makes an awesome place for retail therapy (for girls who believe in it).

The usual things that I may grab at Daiso are things like, Drinks, Tidbits, Dog toys, Dog clothes, Envelops, Make-Up (and things related to it), and Boxes!

Daiso has drinks & food that cannot be found in a normal supermarket! Their drinks and tidbits are imported from Japan, and if you are daring, you may find interesting food & drinks that you would want to try!

Do note that the makeup items purchased from Daiso are not of awesome quality. They can be used; just don’t place your hopes too high. They either spoil easily, or stain.

Doggy toys there are only going at $2! And you’d usually find a variety. The rope toys I bought from them are still alive after 6months! Doggy clothes however, are only are size 1 -3 which means a bigger dog would not be able to fit into it.

The staff there are smiley, and happy to tell you where to find what.

Cheap + Valuable = Makes me Happy!

Daiso is basically, an affordable addiction. Everything is priced at 2 bucks, and you can get just about anything you need. Make-up? Check. Toilet brush? Check. Gloves for your trip to Genting? Check. Daiso provides for your lifestyle, at affordable prices. (That would probably work well as a gimmick for them.)

It is just impossible to wander in with 1 item to get and exit with just that. The 2 dollar concept sticks to your mind and manifests like a viral. But you'd be amazed by what you can get with just a mere 2 bucks. Daiso products are really of decent quality, contrary to popular belief that cheap and quality are on two opposite ends.

I have recently purchased their Blackheads Pore Pack (a pack of four) which I've heard tons of good reviews about, and am thoroughly impressed. Oh, they have Muji-like containers too, offering them for half the price. I'd personally head over to any of the outlets if I were looking for a household item, before heading to departmental stores or the sorts. ;)

daiso is famous for selling everything at $2. you can find almost any item in the store from make up to food to containers and art items.

it really is amazing what you can find here. i've bought party bags, tool boxes, food and drink items, glassware and christmas decorations here. it is fun that daiso constantly changes their items that are upfront near the entrance according to the next largest holiday.

one might be wary though of the quality of the products. for $2, do not expect alot from the items, especially christmas decos. usually you'll get by if you are not too picky about the finer details or the amount of food in your bag. it's all about managing your expectations i guess?

also i guess $2 may not be a bargain for every item in the store, so pick and choose your items wisely.

at the checkout counter, payments are usually a fast affair as items are merely counted and multiplied by 2 to get the total value. you might wana ensure that you have enough cash on hand though as i clearly remember they do not take credit cards; offhand i cannot remember if they accept nets but it's better not to take the risk.

all in all i think it's a great store to go to for great values on your items. make sure you have loads of time [or determination and discipline to just grab your needed items and go] or it will consume and amaze you with the amount of random items they have!

One of my favourite shops in a shopping centre has got to be Daiso! Most daiso outlets are huge and it is a great way to kill time after a meal or before a movie! They have almost about everything in daiso, ranging from necessities to fashion accessories to bathroom facilities! And the best part of it all is that all the items are priced at $2 each! In this consumer society where prices are jacking up all the time, $2 sounds too cheap to resist!

The quality of the items is assurable. Hence, you do not have to worry about paying lesser for lousier quality. My friend bought the fake eyelashes from there and they even provide the glue for it! Quite durable and easy to use! I love to purchase materials to make cards and such from daiso too. The materials that they sell are so adorable! Especially for a sticker lover like me, I can spend quite a while just gazing at the stickers and deciding what to choose.

Daiso also sells lots of food, drinks, necessities. You want it, they have it! Stationeries, toys, kitchen ware... there are simply too many items to be named! For a shopaholic like me, I will never fail to come out of Daiso without a Daiso item in hand. There are simply too many affordable and value for money items to get!

Whenever I see a DAISO store, I feel this overwhelming, compulsive need to go in. And I would always leave the place with at least a few things.. always.

I could spend an hour or two in there easily, getting lost in a Japanese-like world where everything is $2 and nothing hurt. The fact that everything is priced that way usually makes me buy things that are really unnecessary but I couldn't resist because they're so cheap!

There's always so many people though, and it can be quite a drag to squeeze in here and there. But aside from that, I suggest we have more DAISO stores all around Singapore! Yes!

Looking for cute stationery or craft items? Searching for cheap and user-friendly cosmetic products? Or simply, wanting to grab an interesting Japanese snack? Daiso has it all! Since its recent opening in Singapore, many Daiso outlets have sprouted up all over the island. Its main attractiveness is due to the wide range of products available at just $2 each. Daiso is a good place for those needing everything at once but are low on cash.

Whenever I visit Daiso, I would usually get a couple of keychains and mobile phone holders as the petite items always amuse me. There are also snacks from there that I love, such as the caramel corn snack as the crackers have a unique sweet-salty flavour, and there are many of it in one packet, making this snack worth its price.

However, if you are an impulsive buyer, the $2 spent on each product may add up to over $20 or even $30! I would advise anyone patronizing the store to choose your purchases wisely (and not get too attracted by the lovely items), so as to not end up burning a hole in your pockets.

The one stop destination for buying the most unnecessary items. I was amazed at how everything in Daiso is only priced at $2 although the quality of the products are really quite excellent. It even has food products that are imported from Japan itself priced very reasonably - at $2. This is where everything starts, because of the cheap price of everything it makes everything seem relatively buyable. This is in itself the worse trap, so be warned because it may seem that every item is very cheap but after taking a whole basket full of things, the bill is certainly not going to be that little. I found myself in this situation a dozen of times and ended up going home with things that I did not need at all but found them 'very cute' or 'i might use it' and just bought it 'because its $2'.

Although the place is very neatly arranged and the things are relatively easy to find in the respective shelves, walking to and fro countless times in the shop is not advisable. I got very dizzy as the shop is very brightly lit and after looking at rows and rows and section after section of items it really gives one a headache because there is just too many things to look. Furthermore, the space is rather small so aisles can be very close to each other and it would make it seem like really an ant looking at a whole giant warehouse of items.

The best part about Daiso has got to be the food. The caramel corn is extremely good and it's pretty cheap considering how much actually comes in one packet.

The outlet at IMM probably has the widest variety of flavours of caramel corn. My friend and I were in there once and I was drawn to the packet in green for some reason and I really wanted it but I had no idea what it was, because the packaging was in Japanese. After some consideration, I bought it and it turned out to be matcha. It was really good and not too overpowering with the bitter taste of green tea, creating a good balance between the sweet caramel, and bitter tea taste. It's also cheaper in comparison to Japanese markets, where they sell them for $2.50. $0.50 might not seem like a lot, but when you buy 10 packets like I do, it adds up to a significant amount for crisps.
