I am quite shocked to still see so many of these shops still existent in the shopping malls that I have been to. I have never seen much change in variety in their items, and the stuff I saw 4 years ago is still on sale today.

The workmanship of the necklaces and chokers is seriously substandard, and also note that that they are no where near cheap. The only thing that I ever buy from them these days are the shoe laces for shoes like DC shoes.

I feel that many of their products just not only does not fit in with current times, but it also is out of Singapore's usual dress style or the weather. Wearing their thick material cap or choker in such hot weather is just sheerly uncomfortable, so I do not know who actually still buys this things, especially when they are so expensive.

77th street stocks various accessories for both guys and girls, from earrings and necklaces down to shoelaces and clothes. However, there is hardly anyone who shops here now, with other accessories stores selling similar products stocked at 77th Street. Some of the accessories sold here are also cheap and common, and do not deserve the high price labels attached. The most I have ever purchased from here were shoelaces... that is it. Stock always appear to be the same, I'm surprised that the business is still up and running.

There was a time when 77th Street was 'in' and the punk style was favoured, now it seems to be fading, or perhaps consumers are smarter and know that 77th Street is overpriced, and even boring.

I think I can sum this place up in 3 words: Overpriced, outdated, tacky.

It used to be cool 5 years ago- I remember myself wandering into the store and seeing all the necklaces and chains and accessories and thinking to myself how cool everything was.

5 years later I return and the place has stayed absolutely the same, and it is disgusting. The things there are exceptionally expensive. They sell piercing needles 10 times more expensive than anywhere else. The place has disturbingly loud and irritating outdated techno music blasting throughout every corner of the store, and it's just not cool anymore. I guess it'll be going out of business soon if they do not do a revamp and keep up with the times, and keep the price to a normal range.

Back when I was still in primary school, I would watch my cousin uncover her various pieces of loot from 77th Street. Those pieces were usually edgy with a hint of punk, and I suppose that was what used to be in trend in the past.

Fast forward a few years, whenever I am bored enough to actually wander into a 77th Street outlet, I still see the exact same sort of products being sold in store, and it really makes me wonder - Does 77th Street even attempt to catch up with the times?

Hardly anyone does punk nowadays. Perhaps there are still a considerable few, but I highly doubt that even these kids would purchase anything from 77th Street. Singapore does punk more tastefully nowadays, but I don't even think 77th Street knows the true meaning of tasteful.

There are studs on most pieces of clothing, and the words and letterings are obnoxious and in-your-face. The accessories are more acceptable than the clothing, but even so, a simple necklace can cost up to $20. Definitely not worth it, and I would much rather head off to Diva or Accessorize if I needed any punkish accessory of sorts.

With multiple store locations around Singapore and even a branch set up in ION Orchard (sacred shopping paradise for me), you would think 77th street would have prettier and trendier clothes.
77th street specializes in punk clothing and sells supposedly rocker apparel. The clothes there are tacky and severely overpriced, and a simple shirt can retail for over $40.

I’ve visited the Tampines Mall branch a few times, only to be disappointed over and over again by the dated apparel and the obsolete accessories. Evidently, 77th street does not make any effort to keep with the trends and the clothes and accessories there are not often updated. I would be faced with the same studded accessories and bejeweled skulls every visit, warranting more than one visit a complete waste of time.

77th street experienced brief popularity back in 2009, but unfortunately, its time has long passed.

But all things will come to end.

77th Street used to be the hottest thing in my teenage years. It's a place of angry keychains and flashy apparel. The fashion here is incredibly young and loud and not you'd wear if you're beyond 17.

The store keepers are trained but not professional piercers, though I remember being warned by a friend to never try to get myself pierced here, so maybe the piercers are not that good at their craft.

Nowadays I come here only to get updates for my earrings and navel studs but the selections here are really limited so, skip over!
