Fun but expensive

How can anyone pass by Lush without knowing? The smell is so strong! Sometimes too much! But when you step in, you'll be overwhelm by not just the smell but the number of products too. So many different types of soaps and they all look and smell very interesting.

I like their soaps most. I used their hair soaps and the one I really like is Jumping Juniper. But not cheap! Actually all their stuff are not cheap. So don't go crazy. If you step in for the first time, don't get too excited and try to buy too many things. Go read up what's good and then buy according to what you think you need. If you got bath tub, try their bath bombs. Price reasonable and very fun to use. Most got colors so the water will look nice to dip in. They also cause the bath water to be bubbly and smells great.

Good thing the sales staff are not atas and very helpful. So if you don't know anything, you can ask them and they are most willing to recommend or advice.

You don't normally have to walk near a Lush store to know that it's there, thanks to the overwhelming smell of a hundred scents at once. I have a tendency of getting a bad migraine whenever I'm near their stores. But not wanting to judge a book by its cover, or in this case the store by its overpowering scents; I plucked up the courage and popped into one of their outlets.

Their store assistants were ever so friendly, willing to give me a hand at trying their scrubs and lotions. Powering through my slowly developing migraine, I find it hard to differentiate their range of smells. I honestly thought everything smells the same. I did however, fall in love their bar soaps and sea salt scrub which actually left my skin smooth after trying them. Unfortunately they were rather over the price budget I'd like to spend on body products.

Although I had to overcome my initial unwillingness to brave the pleasant but overpowering smells in every Lush outlet, once inside I am always spoilt for choice. My favourite products are the solid body soaps displayed in the center of the shop. Some look good enough to be eaten, as though they were giant cakes! I bought a small bar of "Honey I Washed the Kids" soap ($17).

Unfortunately, after scrubbing for quite awhile, the foam produced by the soaps start smelling slightly off - it morphs from the mild, sweet honey fragrance into a stale, not unpleasant but almost chemical-like smell. Nevertheless, will definitely be back to try out more soaps. I'm addicted to using bar soaps now, it's enjoyable and rather nostalgic.

I was attracted by the concept of the shop and the interesting decor they have.I walked into the shop and wasn't intending to buy since it just comes off as expensive to me. While I was looking around, this assistant come up to me and was very very friendly and helpful, I think she knows that I'm just looking around, yet she was so warm and nice; she took the initiative to explain the products, and which are the best products etc.

Needless to say, I was very impressed by her service, she was so passionate about what she is doing and it feels great being served by such a girl. I left the shop, thinking that I would come again, and I would get something from this shop then.

I returned to the shop, looked around and picked up "Bohemian", a pretty soap that exudes a lemony light refreshing smell, and without heisitation, I bought it. I have to say, as pretty as it looks or smell, it didn't suit my skin, because it is for people with oily or troubled skin, but I have normal skin. So I ended up using it as a hand soap which works great. I wouldn't blame it on the shop since I was the one who didn't ask and just swoop it up. On average, their soap bars cost over $10 and 100g is just a tiny piece.

Though 100g makes up a tiny piece, it can last for quite a while (because it is a soap bar), around 2 months, depending on how you use it. That being said, for people who finds soap bar a hassle to use, this may not be for you.

I'm not sure if I'm going to get the soap bar again, since I find it a little of a hassle to use soap bar, but if I can splurge a bit, I would get the other soap bars that are more moisturizing and they all look and smell promising! I heard that the porridge soap and the sultana soap is really good too!

Lush has great products that definitely make a difference to the quality of you skin, hair care routine. I personally own a number of things from lush which include, the retread conditioner, the oatmeal soap bar, and the ocean salt scrub. All of these are gentle on my skin and hair and the difference in the texture of my skin and hair could be felt almost immediately after the first use!

That being said, the shop itself can be a bit of a turn off with its overpowering scent that makes it almost impossible to actually smell anything in the store. I’m usually just taking my chances with the products hoping they smell good. I’ve had good luck with most of the scents so far, but for things like soaps and perfumes, it can be far too risky to just take a shot.

The prices are also rather steep in comparison to the actual prices of the items in the British stores which the line is actually from. It seems like the exportation fee makes up at least a third of the price, which can be quite a bummer.

I actually have never bought anything from Lush but I received a package of Lush products during Christmas after winning a contest. My favourite was the bath bomb that had gold glitters. Unfortunately I did not have a bath tub at home so I could only enjoy the bath in a big basin. Thank the Lord for making me petite.

As for the bar soaps, they smell interesting but I didn't enjoy using them because I think using bar soaps is unhygienic.

Cute store concept, with unique products!

I’ve personally never bought anything from Lush, but it has always intrigued me, as the store’s concept is really unique. Lush prides itself on its handmade cosmetics, and what’s really special about this store is customers can decide how much product they want to purchase. It’s so adorable to see large slabs of soaps and bar lotions on the shelves waiting to be sliced up, as it is reminiscent of a market place. In addition, Lush always smells super good, and the scent always draws me into the store!

I also really like the fact that Lush’s special products, such as the massage bars, can rarely be found anywhere else. The store assistants are approachable and helpful, and are always on hand to explain the benefits of the different products. The only downside to Lush is the price – the products are really quite pricey, at almost $40 for a tub of hair conditioner. However, even if you don’t intend to purchase anything, Lush is still worth a visit, for its store concept!

Pricey and unique hand made soaps and concoctions

LUSH! is a brand famous for their different facial and body concoctions. They sell their facial scrubs and body scrubs in tubs with witty and cute names! These concoctions are made from natural ingredients only and sold in black tubs. It makes the experience feel so homely and simple!

Soaps from LUSH! are also handmade and come in different shapes, sizes and colors. Enter the shop and you will see a whole row of colorful soaps. Some are even **glittery**!!! I love anything glitter but was quite hesitant about showering with it. I don't want stray glitter specks to remain on my body. Prices for the products here are pretty steep, but I guess unique and organic products do come with a high price. I have not purchased anything from LUSH before as I don't see the need to do so yet. I do enjoy looking at their shop and products though! It is a good gifting idea especially with their seasonal gift sets which are priced at a good value!

I have been following LUSH and lusting over their products way before they were launched in Singapore.

My fav soap scent has to be 'Honey I Washed The Kids' - it mainly smells like vanilla caramel cupcake, which can be a heaven-send after a long tiring day at school. I also have some of their bathbombs - even though I do not have a bathtub, it makes a good wardrobe/drawer/bag freshener. And my fav exfoliator is the seasalt scrub where it leaves my skin clean and refreshed after every wash.

One thing I realised about their soaps woud be that the scent fades pretty fast - both on body and on soap. Maybe that could be due to the fact that it is handmade and preservatives are lesser. Also, their prices are a little high, but definitely alright to splurge on nice smelling stuff every once in awhile. It makes a good gift as well. One of the cute things Lush does, is that they sell by weight. I find it very adorable because I've never encountered a retail shop selling beauty products/toiletries by weight.

I also love their packaging, especially nearer to festive seasons such as Christmas, Lush always have the prettiest packaging for their giftsets. In fact, whenever I enter their shop, it already smells and looks like Christmas! Can't wait to head back for another round of Christmas shopping

Each time I walk past Lush at Wisma, I can't help but walk inside to take a look. Even though if it is just window shopping, it is always interesting to see how something that looks so yummy can be applied on your body.

One thing about the staff at Lush is that they are extremely cheerful, helpful and friendly. They would willingly share their favorite items and the bestsellers as well as explain how each product can be used and what it is good for.

Recently, I could not resist the temptation but to buy a bubble bath soap. It smells really really sweet, refreshing and good! The ball of soap fizzles in the bath tubs and foams almost immediately, causing my entire bathroom to be filled with a strong fragrance. Though it is quite pricey for a small ball of soap which could only be use once, I thought that it is worth a try.
