Beware of high prices and substandard yoghurt
Overall Score
I chanced upon Yogurberry while at Bugis Junction food court. Tucked in a corner with bright magenta lights and a clean, white aesthetic, this yoghurt joint stuck out like a sore thumb from the rest of Food Junction. Craving some soft serve, I thought it was worth a shot. The empty storefront should’ve been an obvious warning sign.

Yogurberry, like many of its soft serve counterparts, operates by a self-serve system that charges the price of your ice cream by weight. Like a kid in a candy store, I loaded my cup with my typical toppings: half a cup of strawberry soft serve, a few peaches and blueberries. I expected a price of around $7, my usual. To my horror, it came to $12.

The yoghurt itself melted very quickly. Within a few minutes, it was already transforming into a pastel pink, molten mess. I felt the yoghurt was also too sweet, despite the store’s claims of natural flavouring. I was expecting a smooth, creamy taste reminiscent of strawberry milk; it tasted more like strawberry syrup.

Unless you’re desperately in need of a sugar high, give this one a miss. Save the cash in your wallet for some better options.
